Entertainment / 2 projects im interested in
« on: August 02, 2010, 08:46:22 pm »
One is Project: My World (http://playmyworld.com/) look's like a nice bit of fun to doss around with from time to time.

But the other project I am way more interested in, It's called Infinity and for those who have played Space Sim games I think this is something you will enjoy. http://www.infinity-universe.com

One of it's main features it likes to boast about is the seamless space to planet transition show cased in this video
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3muhlQYFgLE" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3muhlQYFgLE</a>

What this guy has done, is make a Galaxy made up of billions of stars and even more planets and is giving the player free run of the Galaxy, it's an MMO and it seem's it gives the player complete freedom to even make your own city on your own planet (yes you can own your own planets). My only problem is that this whole thing could go to waste on an X style space sim =/

Right so, everyone is dead yeah? I mean that's the general notion of "walking into the light". I can understand that the whole "Flash Sideways" was more like a Purgatory rather then an alternate reality.

Kate and Ford were on the plane that left the island along with Richard, Miles and Frank, now according to the ending Ford and Kate died (cos they were in the church) so what happened to Miles, Frank and Richard?

Also Hugo and Ben took over as "Jacob" but yet according to the ending Hugo was dead aswell, as was Ben really, even though he didn't go into the Church so er... aww !@#$% I just confused myself -_-

Yeah basically if they are all dead then what happened to Frank, Miles, Richard, Ben, Dan and that Ginger haired chick?!

In all fairness though, I still preferred FlashForward =D

Entertainment / Thoughts on the 3DS!
« on: June 17, 2010, 09:03:53 pm »
I'm making this topic to hear your thoughts on the 3DS. And also because I know !@#$% all about it.

Most I can add to the table is that I like the look of it, though I notice how it only has 1 analog stick and no one seems to be bitching about it (when everyone bitched about the PSP's 1 analog stick).

Is this one going to be Backwards Compatible with DS games? I don't think there's a GBA slot but yeah if it is I may just get one to replace my DS being as my DS is so old now.

Entertainment / Been trying to find a good multiplayer game
« on: May 31, 2010, 04:21:30 pm »
So far this is my findings;

Modern Warfare 2 is the, hands down, worst multiplayer game ever.

Followed closely by Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is pretty damn good just as long as you get on a decent server where people actually know how to play the game. And not a server full of people who couldn't even team work there way out of a bag.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is good as long as you only play co-op.

Borderlands is solid and fun.

Modern Warfare can be fun until you find the servers with the sad act types.

Battlefield 2 is !@#$% online but Project Reality is awesome online (though that is now coming to Arma 2).

I've not tried many games, would love to play some ArmA 2 online but need to get me new laptop first, and some games are just terrible ideas for online -_- anyone else wanna add?

Apple is evolving. First, they wanted us to wear 3D iPod glasses. Now, they don't want us to wear any glasses, in a 3D holographic environment with a multitouch interface.

Seriously am I the only person who adores this movie? (Starship Troopers)

To me this is the best Sci-Fi/Action ever made, and I loved Avatar so much. But I'd chose this over any movie.

The sequels weren't as good, went downhill for Starship Troopers 2, but Marauder was all right, just some shitty acting.

It's stated as being some sort of homage the the original Legend of Zelda and you can definitely see why, but yeah, picking this up in May :D

And now this has been announced http://kotaku.com/5484611/test-drive-unlimited-returns

So yeah, my random browsing of the tactical gamers forum threw this in my face
(http://www.jcove-lite.co.uk/)

now then as many of you may know I basically bum off the ArmA series (And original Flashpoint game) and this is a free version of VBS2 :D.
For those that don't know VBS2 is a military training simulator derived from the ArmA series, and even though it's not a game per say, it can still be bucket loads of fun. It comes with a Mission Editor and every piece of British Army kit you can think of (minus the Eurofighter for some reason).

But yeah it's Free, so you should take a look at it ;) the mission editor is unbelievably flexible, any operation you can think of you could do.

It's the first movie, I've not understood a single part of, but still loved it to pieces :3

The Hurt Locker:

Loved this movie, there's a lot of "goofs" in the movie but non the less deffinately enjoyable. Only problem I had with it, was the first bomb that the second technician disposes of. He pulls the bombs out by their wires.... There were enough bombs their to put him into the Orbit of Saturn! You don't pull them out by their wires O_O

Gamer:

Decided to check this out because a lot of people have been saying it's pretty cool...and it actually is alright, It's probably the closest we'll ever get to an Unreal Tournement movie (which would be awesome and you know it!...as long as they don't add a shitty story...well it'd be better as a TV series more then anything...like Gladiator...only with guns).

Entertainment / In Bruges (Lot's of !@#$% swearing)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1khb-yphZ3c" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1khb-yphZ3c</a>

I saw this movie the other night, and it's bloody awesome, I love those sort of Gangster/Hitmen movies (Lock Stock is still my favourite though). I can't really talk about the plot much with out giving it all away, but basically Colin Farrell plays an Irish Hitman who is sent to Bruges to wait out after his first contract goes badly. Anyway he spends his time in Bruges with a fellow hitman who uses the oppurtunity in Bruges to sightsee whereas Colin uses it to cause trouble. This is one of my favourite scenes;

I'm always being told how amazing this game is, and how much better it is then GTA 4 so I picked it up the other day and... I'm not so convinced by it. Don't get me wrong it's fun and has jet's an all that which are fun to fly, but the story is fairly annoying. I've only done 2 missions and that's because after every mission you have to fill your respect bar which takes the !@#$% !@#$% to do.

I'm hoping though, I'm just doing it wrong...

Anyone else been watching this?

Now I know scientifically there are a few mistakes in the whole thing. I actually quite like it, it gets described by a lot of people as "Grey's Anatomy in Space". Which is utter !@#$%, because...Grey's Anatomy is !@#$%...

I guess I'm just biased 'cos I love programmes about space travel.

Another thing I like about it is the technologies used. Especially the phones and their version of credit cards. (Touching two cards together to tranfer money? why can't we have that!?)

It's not really all that realistic but then again it's a TV programme. So who gives a !@#$%?

I finally got a chance to see this today, and...It's actually pretty awesome, as far as horror movies go. I love how you never actually see what the "monster/alien" is just what it controls.

Entertainment / Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
« on: November 17, 2009, 04:53:04 pm »
Surprised no ones posted a topic about this yet...though it seems to be getting a lot of stick for being "mainstream" and "popular". Also a lot of people don't want to play the game because its "unrealistic" or "because theres a space mission, clearly unrealistic". (I have yet to play this space mission though...even tho I've completed it?"

Anyway here is my stance on the game, the game is fun, fun as !@#$%. Epic as well. So what if its unrealistic the gameplay is fun and quick and the story is just amazing. Also
