I HIGHLY believe that this topic has been already done, but I don't see it anywhere, so here we are with a new poll, of which game was your favorite of the saga.
-
This fits under entertainment, Also I'm going with TP as my favorite.
-
Majora's Mask hands down.
-
I find A Link to the Past the best one.
-
I'm stuck between OOT and Majora's Mask.
-
ocarina of time was great. the the legend of zelda was great... but im going to have to vote for four sword adventures... its actually the only 1 i have truly beaten, plus it has multiplayer, and i enjoy the puzzles with the use of 4 links. oh and i liked the gameboy advance link cable feature, swaping screens and all.
-
OoT, with Four Swords Adventures as the runner-up.
-
Wind Waker, then Minish Cap.
-
I got to say Wind Waker. I think its flawless. It took the advancements of OoT and made it perfect. It had an amazing soundtrack, so much exploring. Some people complained about the graphics, but you can't lie, the cartoon style caught everyone's eye. The graphics were also the smoothest of all of the games, it didn't look pixelated at all, where TP did.
For second I would have to say probably OoS only because I spent so much time playing it when I was little.
-
ALTTP was my favorite, and it's funny to me that Wind Waker is currently winning because it's my least favorite, and the only console Zelda game that I've started and never bothered playing all the way through. I got about 70% through it and got tired of it.
-
My favorites in order:
Wind Waker 8)
Skyward Sword XD
Twilight Princess :D
Majora's Mask :)
Ocarina of Time :-[
-
Voted Wind Waker, but it's difficult to chose one ultimate favorite. Wind Waker was too short.

That I do agree, if it could have been double the length, it would have been an almost perfect game.

Those tiny discs had their limits at that time.

Thats also true. I honestly forgot all about those small discs
-
TP was larger since it came out a few years after.(3-4 years about, it's a guess since I don't want to dig out TP.)
-
the graphics is actually one of the reasons why i didn't care for wind waker. it definitely was good, but i'm not a fan of the cell shading. (and in case you are wondering, no, im not one of those people who think better graphics mean better games :P )
-
ocarina of time bois
-
I haven't played Skyward Sword, but wasn't that supposed to be the ultimate Zelda, combining all the best bits from the series? It only has one vote :D
-
Ocarina of Time and Zelda II : Adventure of Link are at the top for me.
Link to the Past and Legend of Zelda are right behind them.
Didn't care for Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, or Oracle games.
Minish Cap was fun just didn't feel as big as LttP for me for a 2d game.
I haven't played SS at all but I have watched a buddy play it for an hour. Looked like the most boring !@#$% ever, even when he was in combat it looked !@#$% boring.
-
My top five would be:
1. Twilight Princess
2. Skyward Sword
3. Ocarina of Time
4. The Wind Waker
5. The Legend of Zelda
-
As much as I want to say Four Swords or Four Swords Adventure, I didn't have enough friends to play it with to where it'd be enjoyable - had I had those friends it would have probably been a lot of fun. I like Minish Cap but the gameplay and story of Majora's Mask was what I most got enveloped into. The concept of using masks was great and something as simple as going into the observatory was "magical".
So yeah, Majora's Mask was my favorite game.
-
I see lots of people are saying Majora's Mask, myself, I never got into it when I was younger, and I had a hard time beating it so I gave up. I was also only about 5, 6 years old when I started playing it. However, recently I was awarded with a Gold Nintendo Club gift so I chose Majora's Mask for the VC, and I'm going to start playing it after I'm done with my summer courses.
-
Majora's Mask is very good. Ocarina of Time I really liked it, but I just find it as a copy of ALTTP in 3D. I mean, 3 temples as a kid and the 3 spiritual stones, is the same to say the Light World and the three pendants of virtue. 6 dungeons as adult, and 6 sages is the same to say Dark World and the six maidens.
-
Nintendo and most other video game companies reuse concepts. The Magical 7 X cliche is used alot.

yes, that is why i enjoyed it soo much. 4 people all with the gameboy advances to link up to the gamecube, and messing around while solving puzzles. (like throwing your friend down a hole lol)
-
A Link to the Past. With ease. It was the first Zelda game that I would get immersed in.

Finally, someone that understands me.

See that word you used, "supposed," ? Yeah, thats the keyword.

i don't even wanna vote :<

i don't even wanna vote :<
They're on there, Between Majora's Mask, and Four Swords. :P
-
why aren't Link: The Faces of Evil, Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, and Zelda's Adventure on there lol.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think those we spin-offs.
-
haha, i was kidding.. they are, made by philips for the cd-i... honestly, i don't count those as zelda games :P

He meant, why are they separate options and not just one, because they have the linked game feature XD He just doen't know which one of the two to vote for :P

Threw in my vote for MM. The first time I played it, I didn't really like it, but then I went back and played OoT and discovered that it wasn't as great as I remembered (though still a great game) and I played MM after that and I really loved it. I concluded that I remembered OoT to be better than it really was and that was why I didn't like MM too much at first.
The main reason I voted for MM over the others is because it was the game that pulled me in to the story the most out of all the Zelda games. The people in MM feel like they matter a lot more (as opposed to other Zelda games) because of the interactivity you have with them and because of the various sidequests and how much depth they have. Bottom line: In my opinion, MM tells the best Zelda story because of the depth in many of the character's lives; it can really pull you in, making you feel more a part of the story as a whole rather than being separated/distant in some ways (that's the best I can describe it).
I don't know if SS would beat MM in my book though because I've only played about 30 minutes of it. I bought the special gold wiimote edition and all but my roommate moved out and he owned the Wii, and I obviously can't play the game without the console. So it's just sitting on a shelf gathering dust until I have the money to buy a Wii (will probably wait for the WiiU). Sad, yeah?
-
i still like super mario 64.
wait, lol. but seriously, i think i would have voted for OoT if it had multiplayer like 4 sword, or MM if i didn't get owned by the moon before i completed like the first quest haha. (i did like how you traveled back in time to complete it)

If I had to name my top five favorite Legend of Zelda games (even though I just voted for Ocarina of Time), I'd have to say:
1. Ocarina of Time
2. Skyward Sword
3. Twilight Princess
4. Majora's Mask
5. A Link To The Past
This list is pretty common I believe, but each installment had their own sense of uniqueness. I have played all the other not mentioned, but these installments stand out the most to me and others who share the same perspective.
-
Majora's Mask needs to be higher on that list :P
-
Four Swords Adventures needs to be higher on that list :P
fixed :D

I can't bring myself to vote for any particular game, though I wanna say Majora's Mask was the best. I've beaten every Zelda aside of the DS games which I can't access... Majora's Mask seems to be the most creative game in the series. The dungeons were all masterpieces in my opinion as opposed to something that you beat twice and remember it like the back of your hand. I recently did a 3 heart run on MM a few months ago and it was much more entertaining and somewhat more difficult than my OoT 3 heart run. It feels like the game was meant to be played that way because you feel like everything is a fight to survive. Battling against the clock, giant monsters, and other stuff inbetween. Anyway, my top 5 would be...
Majora's Mask
Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword
Wind Waker
Ocarina of Time
-
if you like that extra difficulty for second playthroughs i suggest getting OoT for the 3ds. first playthrough is normal, but then you can do the master quest which is mirrored and creatures deal more damage, and then it also has a boss challenge mode. (its just a suggestion :D) Oh, plus its in 3d.
-
I don't like the idea of Mirrored Masterquest. I really liked the Masterquest Disc for Gc. (I'm at the shadow temple of my 3 heart run with no deaths. Sadly due to a bad tv I used 4 fairies already. Even though I beat OoT using a total of 3 fairies with 3 hearts. I've played OoT 3D, but the 3d feature seemed to do nothing but make the game blurry.
-
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, because of how great it was I think it's the measuring stick upon which all future LoZ titles are measured.
-
I have to say that the wind waker is mine.
I'm sure the fact that I really loved OOT, for some reason never managed to play MM, and then just waiting for the GC's first zelda, thinking about it daily, finding out as much as I could about it daily did quite a bit for me in terms of memories. This was back when most of my information came from magazines and I could only watch say 5 clips of video from the Japanese version a day, that I found on a site called IGN haha.
But just the character that game has is great. It just feels great. While say TP may have been a huge epic, and it was great, it wasn't anything to stand out. WW was, which is why it still stands out in my memory today.
People complain of the sailing, and I'm sure when you're just trying to blast through the game those few minutes sailing can be very boring. But when you're just relaxing with the game, slowly exploring its world, coming across all sorts of things in its charming sea... It's just really nice imo. The whole feel of the game is great imo and I love it.
I only actually played it once for some reason, when it came out and I have no idea how I'd feel if I played it now, but the first experience is the one that says the most and that one experience was the one that stands out most in my mind.
Also, once you have your hands on the game, the wait for it official finishes. All you have to do is play it through to your hearts content and then that's it, it's over. Never again will you not know of that game and have to wait to play it.
The wait to play such huge games plays a huge part in the actual experience of it imo. Just looking forward to it, wondering about it, for months, maybe years. In this time all you can do is wonder and wait. It's quite a magical time really, but once you have it, that's it, that time of waiting for that game comes to an end, which is very saddening in a way. You have a new, great partner, but you've just lost the one you knew forever (or close enough) and they'll never come back. Never again will you experience the same thing for that game.

Without a doubt ALTTP is my favorite :3

Well, someone who gets me.

Majora's Mask is for men, Ocarina of Time is for babby plebeians who can't think for themselves.
Minish Cap is also really underrated.
