If there's ever a game that costs only 200 points, I'll be getting it for myself.  You'd be lucky to get the upgraded Photo Channel from me.

I didn't play much of the first to, but it seemed to me that Tooie expanded on just about everything and actually had more than one boss.  I'd get both, though, if they were released on the VC.

There are 242 stars, actually, since you can play the final level with both Mario and Luigi, but it doesn't matter.  I would have been a bit more willing to get every single star again if more things than just Cosmic Mario were changed.

I don't think there's any specific way to do it.  I did find a cool glitch, though: as you're about to run out of time, jump off the place and ground pound.  If done right, you'll run out of time as you screen.  It'll show that robot thing and Mario, but the camera will immediatly start to slowly go around the area and move downwards slowly until you can only see the background.  I don't know if it keeps going because I shut it off, and I've only tried to do it once so I don't know if it always works.

Well, it's a whole lot better and Wii-worthy than that stupid overated port...I think it was Toilet Paper, but I can't remember...

It's definetly one of the most original games I've played, and the only other game I've 100%ed than Metroid Prime 2 and possibly LoZ.  I only wish there was a bit more to the story and that some of the suits had more uses.  Hell, I didn't even have to use the Ice Flower on "The Frozen Peak of Baron Brr."  But other than that, it sits in the middle of my top five.

The co-op in Galaxy pwns all.  The only thing that comes close to it is the multiplayer for Beavis & Butthead.

FPSs are fun, too.  Games like Mario Party or the Sims or Ridge Racer I don't like so much.  Maybe it'd help if I posted my collection, but that'd be pretty long.

I'll see about that, though.  It's for the Wii, right?  I don't have an Xbox/360 or a PS3, and I won't be able to afford any new systems unless I get a job before then, so I'd only have games for the GC and the Wii to choose from...Unless they still sell SNES and GBA games at some stores...

I guess I'll have to now that I've beaten Bowser again with Luigi.
Also, any suggestions on what game I should get for Xmas?  I've already finished Twilight Princess, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Super Paper Mario, and obviously this game.  I'm not sure about getting Metroid Prime 3, but I don't know of any other adventure or RPG-esque games.  I suppose I could go check IGN, but I'm lazy.

Oh well.  I'm only ten stars away from getting 60 again with Luigi, so I might be almost halfway there.

I guess the Red Star wasn't very important.  As far as I know it doesn't really have a use, but at least it's ten times easier to control than the flying in SM64.

Nah, I've spoiled myself by way of youtube, so I know there's an extra one.  I just don't know how to get there or whether there are even more requirements.  Thanks anyway, though.

I've gone out of my way to get all of the 120 stars in Galaxy(all the while losing hundreds of lives due to crazy physics when trying to get the purple coins of Dreadnought).  I was told by Rosalina that I'd unlocked a new galaxy, but that I had to save Peach(again ._.) before going there.  I did that, watched the extra ending, was told Luigi was unlocked, saved, played as Luigi and got the first star, saved and quit, and proceeded to look for the new galaxy.

I checked every single nook and crany, but could not find it.  Finally I resorted to going to IGN's boards for help.  I was told that an extra launch star on the back of the trial planet would take me there, but when I went there, I found no such launch star.  I didn't even get a message on the Wii message board like I'm supposed to.  Is there a glitch in my game, or what?  Please don't tell me I have to do it all over again as Luigi just to get it.  That would be funking cheap.

Meh, I was a bit disapointed with Earthbound when I played the non-legal version of it, and didn't play much past the point where you met the bee.  Sure, it's original, but the battle system just turned me off for some reason.  I don't really know why.

I thought it was pretty funny, though, when I get to the last door in the Underwhere and all of a sudden I have to defeat three Chain Chomps the Earthbound way.  At least that's what I thought it was a reference to.

Mine got to 3rd, but I didn't know that was bad until I came into this thread.  And mine was actually unique

Well, imo, if there is in fact a split timeline, TP takes place in Young Link's time rather than Adult Link's time, thus Ruto along with the others wouldn't have been awakened and those could be the ancient sages Rauru refers to.  However, I think the events that took in Adult Link's time were erased anyway, and that those sages aren't necessarily the sages who watch over the temples in OoT.

Today's game: Super Paper Mario

Note: Because I haven't actually finished this one yet(though I think I will by tomorrow), these are more like first impressions, but my opinions will probably be the same by the end.  Besides that, I've already spoiled the ending of the game for myself anyway.

Now, onto the review.

Gameplay - Because this is less of an RPG and more of a platformer, it certianly plays different than the first two Paper Mario games.  However, it still does retain a lot of elements from them, such as Mushrooms that heal you and coins that buy you Sleepy Sheep or Boo's Sheets, etc. and let you stay at the inn.  There are differences, though, such as no more turn based battles, your partners are quite different, and you don't only have to play as Mario(but I won't spoil any of that).

The puzzles that have to do with the flipping are great, imo, but other than that, I'm not too sure.  The Pizls don't feel as near as useful as any of the partners in the past PM games, but at least they aren't characters who are actually supposed to be enemies.  Since when did Goombas and Koopas ever decide that Mario is a bad guy?

A bad thing to me is that most of the gameplay could have happened on the Gamecube except for pointing at the screen to get info.  Pressing a series of buttons to use the Showstopper or pressing the A button at the right time to blow away enemies was far deeper thank shaking the Wiimote could ever be.

I think it could have made for a better game if it wasn't only 10% gameplay and 90% walls of text.  If it's supposed to be a platformer with RPG elements, I don't want to have to sit through a story that takes up the majority of the game.  I want much longer levels wherein you jump and defeat enemies more than you talk to people.  With that said, though, the gameplay that there is, is awesome.  And, at least to me, it's not as easy as it looks.  I found myself close to dieing plenty of times.

Graphics - Uusually I don't care whether the graphics are good or not, but it'd be stupid to say that the stuff in Super Paper Mario isn't spectacular.  This is the best art style I've seen in any game, ever.  Well, except for the design of some of those npcs, but the rest makes up for it.  I especialy like that place that looks like it's pixelated, and not just because there are a few X-Naut references.

Music - There isn't much memorable music, sadly, and none of it is too impressive.  I don't really care, though.

Story - So far it's good, but I would rather have it in a Paper Mario game hwere it is necassary to have a story, rather than a spin-off platformer.  I guess that's part of the reason why I'm not liking it as much as I loved the story in The Thousand-Year Door.  Besides that, I don't find Dimentio to be as good of a villian as Grodus.  I do think the idea of Luigi being a villian rather than an ally should be expanded though.  Not permanantly for the series, but perhaps there could be more of a rivalry going on between him and Mario.

Overall score: 7.5/10, otherwise known as good.  I'm impressed by a lot of what the game has to offer, but not in the fields that are most important to me.

I've gotten 49 stars in Galaxy so far, and I must say that it is tons better than most Zelda games, maybe even better than TWW.  Plus, it was much more worth it to spend a cent on this than it was to spend full price for the lame port that TP was.  Maybe that's because Mario games typically focus more on gameplay than LoZ games do, but I think that's not the only problem when talking about TP.  TP didn't bring anything really new to the series, unlike Galaxy, which brought the whole issue of gravity above other things.

Sorry, I'd forgotten about that.  When I'm not so lazy I'll edit the prologue into this post, since the whole story wouldn't fit very well.

Unless it has an adventure mode that lasts longer than an hour, I probably won't bother playing it.  The Wii Zapper is probably worth the 20 or so $s, or however much it costs, but this game is a disgrace to the Zelda series.  This isn't what I expected out of what's supposed to be a revolutionary LoZ game.  I want my 1:1 sword controls.

However, I'm split on getting either that or another Wii Points card with the 35$s worth of birthday money I got from my uncle and my grandparents.  I could save up for another Wii game, though.  But I also told my girlfriend I'd get her something if she wanted anything.

It makes them invalid because violent games can be fun to some people.  There's no need for everyone to suffer just because a bunch of parents think their kid will go off on a killing spree.  Violent games aren't FOR kids, so you don't need to buy them.  Just don't bother banning them.  Same with this Zapper thing.
