Valid point, but again these things have never really seen light in other Zelda games, it just seems like Nintendo put them in the game because they're popular with people.

I actually think that it has more to do with the use of the WMP as a way of making the overall gameplay more fluid. It forces players to think more about how they approach a situation. There were some instances when it made gameplay frustrating, but overall I found it to be quite rewarding. I do think that the game would have benefited from the ability to switch whether the game pauses on all menus, much like the ability to switch targeting from 'hold' to 'switch'.

I think the biggest problems with Skyward revolve around what Nintendo DIDN'T do, rather than appropriating ideas. The biggest letdown for me was that the overworld still felt disconnected from the dungeons, and that the overworld itself was so segmented and stuck under another hub world. I didn't like that very much at all. I think that Nintendo overdid their planning, and really rushed a lot of the production.

With the trance piece, I think it'd work well if you expanded the motive that comes in at 0:28 into a larger melody. There's a lot of potential there.

Entertainment / Re: [REVIEW] THE HUNGER GAMES MOVIE (SPOILERS)
« on: April 14, 2012, 07:42:35 am »
I really think that the movie could have been so much better. The actors were quite well cast, but a lot of the direction and the screenplay is just so poor it lets the whole thing down. The crux of the problem is, as has been said by Mitsu, the pacing is terrible. Scenes that needed more attention were overshadowed by ones that just didn't need that much screen time. The whole thing could have been done a lot better. I think that the cuts away from the Games themselves were entirely unnecessary, especially if they plan to adapt the other two books in the series.

Most of the other points I could make have already been mentioned, though I will say that I did expect Haymitch to look a fair bit older.

These are both really nice, though the first gets a bit muddy in places. Stylistically, it reminds me a lot of some of Penguin Cafe Orchestra's acoustic works.

Skyward Sword introduced the Parella, Mogma and the Lanayru Robots. It also considerably expanded the bestiary with a few new mobs.

I have one other bug to report; when jumping off the cliff, it's possible to get stuck if there's a solid object in the way and you lack the means to remove it (in this case some grass). Suggest you implement 'destination is clear' checking.

I'm really impressed with what I've seen of this game so far; the atmosphere it sets is just lovely :3

What kind of music are you using? MIDI or MP3 based?

I believe he means it's the view of a bell from the top, the larger circle being the lip of the bell's base, and the smaller circle being the narrower top of the bell, where it would join onto whatever swings it.

Wow, that really pops out :O The cliff could use a little bit more colour depth to it, though. Love the grass :3
Link's palette is nice, too.

edit: One criticism though; it might get a little overbearing after extended periods of play. Its a very strong colour set in general. Perhaps just tone the background tiles down a liiiittle bit.

What you have here so far seems like a really solid concept, and I'd love to see it developed further.

I've been finding that sometimes the Wiimote is oversensitive; sometimes I end up pulling the whip back to me before it's even latched onto a target because my hand moves the smallest amount. It's only an occasional thing, but it's a bit frustrating.

Your HUD is starting to crowd the screen a little, you might want to consider adjusting the layout somewhat.
