I decided I'd try and get to play Phantom Hourglass, so I went to Gamestop's site and found out the cheapest used DS there was priced at a fooking 80$.  I checked around some more and said "WTF" when I found that a used Gamecube costs a lot less.  How can a handheld be more expensive than a console?  Or even more expensive than the console games coming out in November or December?

Tis true, since Wii replaced it. <_< (Except for GameBoy Player! >_>)

Yeah, the DS is still a new device, its still high and demand, touch screens that size still cost a sufficient amount I'm sure. (I recall there being a 'shortage' at one point in time of them). I've boughten 3 DS's since they've come out, all Lites. One my mom uses, one was "LOST" in the mail system, and my third I bought here locally... One I paid nearly 200 for (local price), the online one -- stolen 120, and another local one for 160. :(

I still need to recover my 'lost' one.

If that IS accurate you were ripped off big time, I bought the plain silver that came with Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt for $150. I don't plan on buying a Lite unless this one breaks or something.

He does live in Canada, but I think the exchange rates are even-ening out.

150-80 bucks isn't that much as a teenager-- you (probably) live and eat for free, so all the money you have is spending money.  Just go get a job :)

Canada's dollar is worth 100.9 of the US Dollar for like this last month it has been higher. I got them about a year ago(for my moms) and the beggining of last year for mine

I can't get a job until after Nov. 21, and even then I still have to pay for Driver's Ed and such.

I wouldn't need to get a new one if my sister hadn't spilled soda all over it. :p  But I didn't care all that much because all I had to play were Mario Kart DS(with no friends because I hadn't realised the router had anything to do with it) and Trace Memory(which I had already gone through a few times).  Plus, I find it easier to play GBA games on the 'cube.

But I recently found out I might not need a DS anyway if I feel cheap enough.

Well, I guess I may have to if I don't want to put up with how slow the game runs at or the lack of imitation cel-shading, and as far as I know I don't have a microphone that I can hook up to my computer.

I have read the previous posts, but there's nothing else you can do then getting a job as soon as possible. Unless you have a rich grandma who gives you a DS with some games. XD

NDS's are more current than a GCN, and NDS's are better in every way exept power, but then comes posibilaty with that touch screen and 2 screens. so it makes perfect sense.

Well, I simply figured that handhelds would be less expensive than consoles.  And besides that, from what I can remember, I checked the prices for used Xboxs and PS2s on the site, and they weren't nearly as cheap as the Gamecube, even if they're older or about as old.
