Second and third shots are controversial, I think. The path in the second one by Link's house looks rather fake, but that may be because it's zoomed in. The tall grass in the second one looks choppy, like it was just a square placed over everything else. Th first shot looks really good, though you might darken the "light" region in the doorway. It looks too bright to be actual light. Instead of a plain white color, make it more brownish like the part above the grassy area.

Horrible... first of all you shouldn't have stretched the indoor background from Link's house. And the other screens look way to plain.

Er...the random spawn is only for the "special" bushes, not the regular ones. You first see then in the Deku Tree. First room.

How'd i get up here?
For the middle screen shot, instead of putting a path by his house, I'd somehow make it seem more like a dirt patch? I'd use diagonal lines with some shade of brown, so it looks almost scribbled in a way. I dunno, but it might be an improvement. Bear in mind I have no experience developing games whatsoever, but I still think it could work.

One thing I know you NEED to do is change the colour of depleted hearts from black to a darkened version of full hearts. It will look much better, imo. I don't really know how to tackle the grass situation, though. Sorry about that.

Other than that, this is looking awesome!

EDIT: The spiral house should be larger, with the path being much thinner so as to make it difficult to get up.

I've changed the hearts, and 4 the spiral house, not the whole thing's a path! Only the detailed part! XD

I really think we ought to be working together on this ahmio. I've got tiles for the Water, Shadow, and Spirit temples when you need them. I'm also going to be mapping out the 2D deku tree rooms, although they're for my own version of this game. Perhaps if we share our resources enough, at least one of us will finish.

Nice video, nice to see all those similarities, but it could of been cut down quite a bit imo >_<;
(didn't really want to see the title screen for over 10 seconds or aaaaaaaaall of the talk from the start etc etc >_< lol)

but that aside, i'm feeling like i want to try and play it :P

He doesn't have doorways because I never finished that tileset. People stole it from here when I showcased it as a WIP. It included branch ledges, floor tiles, and wall tiles. I stopped working on it because the lttp cave tiles are more geared towards that sort of dungeon.
