+++ THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: ESSENCE OF THE TRIFORCE +++

Yes, this game is made in RPG Maker 2003, and no, I am not changing to Game Maker, TGF, or anything like that. RPG Maker is easiest for me to use, and I???m most skilled with it that with anything else. I don???t want any posts saying ???You should change to Game Maker??? or ???RPG Maker sucks for Zelda games.??? To answer them right now: I don???t care. RPG Maker is my maker of choice, and if you don???t like it, that???s too bad for you.

+++ STORYLINE +++

In a time before time began...

Three goddesses descended upon the chaotic land that was to be Hyrule.  Din, Nayru, and Farore shaped the land and brought life to the world.  But upon leaving this dimension, three golden triangles were created as one, this great power known as the Triforce.  Since that day, the Triforce became the basis for Hyrule's providence. Where the Triforce stood became sacred land.

Somewhere in another part of the world rests the power of the Four Sword.  It is said that this sword is able to spilt it's bearer into four different beings, each one capable of fighting with the full strength of the original hero.  Infused with four different elements, the Four Sword is a mystical blade that was forged by an unknown race.

The Triforce and the Four Sword exist as two separate beings, both holding within them a dark power sealed away long ago.  Six sages guard over the Triforce, as seven maidens protect the Four Sword.  Evil may have reigned in the past, but there's absolutely no chance it will come forth once again.

...or is there?

+++ COMMENTS +++

I really haven't worked on this in a long time, but I'm planning on picking up progress again soon.  First order of business is to create a new HUD, or at least make it rounder.
Until then... comments are welcome!

@twillightXIII: Vaati comes over and kills everyone, basically.  Well, not exactly, but he's going to be the main enemy.  As I said, I'll be releasing more information next week while I'm on break.

@hyrule_boy: I'm sure it's possible, but diagonal walking would screw up the coordinates for sword slashing, enemies, collision, and everything else.  It's at it's limits of being considered "pretty good" for as far as it can go in RM2K3, but RPG Maker is not meant to support diagonal walking and so neither does it's variable system.  To answer your question, no, it probably won't.

@pyro: Note that's an old version of the Ocarina system.  If you want to use it, feel free, or you can wait for a newer demo to come out and use that one instead.  The Ocarina Demo has a more updated version than the Engine Demo, but I think where I'm at right now has a few tweaks to get it to work better.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! ;D

awesome job so far. Once again props to you for attempting this in rm2k3 i really have for those who attempt it, just getting the graphics to the point of use in rm2k3 is enough to drive me nuts and discourage me from it even tho the programming is really easy for me. I can't wait to see the new demo!

There's a transparency issue with the text on one of the earlier slides.

It's between two letters.
I can't remember which two or what slide... it's a section of white background, not very large and located somewhere in the bottom left of screen if memory serves.

I usually don't try demos, and believe in the screenshots... It looks very cool, and RPG Maker, huh... well... it looks very good so far :)
Congratulations for what you did, and good luck for what you'll (prolly) do ;)
Keep it up ;)
