So yeah, I'm done school for about 2 weeks... and I've been wanting to really put some of that new gear I got to use. I'll take any requests to slightly remix, or 'update' older video game songs. I'd like to do Zelda requests mainly if possible but if there's anything else that comes to mind I can try it :p
I basically just want to try giving my own spin on some video game classics, and I'm open to suggestions. So... go ahead, request! :p

Oh, damn! That reminded me I've been wanting to remix that molgera song for ages now! I'll get working on that then first. Such a great song :3

That's my favourite boss song from WW :P.
Of course, if you don't get around to doing all the songs that people request I could do one or two... :D.

Well, this is the start to my Molgera arrangement. Any thoughts on how it's going so far?
(early WIP btw)

Not too bad for an early WIP, I like how you've used some completely different chords to it. The only thing that doesn't really fit is the flute playing the main instrument, it doesn't have enough attack IMO.

Ah, thanks. Yeah I've got a loong list of things I need to change, but it's still early on. Half of it is just figuring out how sampletank and all this stuff works lol. I'll keep fleshing things out later.

I feel like the instrumentation isn't great, and it's losing that beat of the drum. Also, I think there is too much reverb - it's hard to make out the melody, and the flute blends into the background.

Other than that, I think you're capturing a real orchestrated sound. This could turn out really good.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. I've got plans to swap a few instruments I'm using right now and work on making things a bit more coherent. I usually put too much reverb so I'll cut back on that too once I smooth some other things out. A lot of it is just getting used to the new plugins I'm using (just realized that it applies it's own effects within the plugin, which would be why there's double reverb in some instruments).

I'll keep working on it though, thanks for the feedback :3

Won't have much time over the next couple days because of the holidays, but I'll get back to working on the molgera, and possibly sol sanctum tracks afterwards...
