It's as broken as my country's government
Oh, they broke the YouTube tag with the update.
Aah. Okay, now I get it, you guys are right. But that doesn't mean I think it's totally logical. Because the "Link Removed" timeline is the same one he came back to as adult Link. He was just elsewhere for seven years (Rip Van Winkle style time travel!). But I guess if the boss says so, then removing the master sword sent him to an entirely different timeline instantly, he actually time traveled, and what the light sage said about his body being in the temple of light for seven years was baloney?
Haha, whatever. I do understand now, and actually really like, the was the removal of the hero led to ALTTP, that does make sense and is really cool.
First off, one of the editors of the Hyrule Historia, the artbook this is from, is Eiji Aonuma. So you can't claim this to be unofficial.
Secondly, the "defeated" timeline, even as described in the book, is more of a "removed" timeline. As in, Link is removed from the equation in some way.
This also means that you're wrong on that, Max. Because "defeated" isn't the right terminology, it also means that there isn't an infinite amount of endings. All the "Ganon rules over a world cast into darkness" endings aren't made any more canon by this timeline than they were previously. Which is to say that they are non-canon. Just because an event CAN happen doesn't make it canon.
Here, have a translation of it.
As you can see, the timeline does indeed split three ways. Basically, it's like this.
TIMELINE 1: LTTP AND BEYOND
Link, as a kid, places the Kokiri Emerald, Goron Ruby, and Zora Sapphire in the Temple of Time and pulls the Master Sword from its pedestal. This removes him from the current timeline. In this timeline, there is no Hero of Time to stop Ganon. As such, he gains the full Triforce and turns the Sacred Realm into the Dark World. This is the Imprisoning War of LttP's past. When another Hero arrives years later (during LttP) Ganon doesn't think much of it originally due to the fact that he's never faced a hero at all.
TIMELINE 2: MM AND BEYOND
Link does defeat Ganon as an adult, and Zelda sends him back to the time when he was a kid. However, the timeline he is sent back to is divergent from his original one (the original one leads to LttP). While Link goes to Termina, the sages go to seal Ganon away. These events are what are referenced by the Sages in TP (and where one of them is slain).
TIMELINE 3: WW AND BEYOND
Link remains an adult after defeating Ganon. However, when the time came for another hero, one did not appear. This leads to the flooding of Hyrule and ultimately Wind Waker's events.
This explanation does seem to gloss over how Link can have the Master Sword in the original timeline (the "defeated/removed" one), but I think I've figured out how to explain that one. Basically, what if Link were removed from the timeline in some way and the Master Sword remained where it was in the Temple of Time, untouched for years. This would allow Ganon to get the Triforce unchecked and cause the Imprisoning War to occur (which leads to LttP).
:-)
Here's some wide key blocks You can edit the colors. the middle one is the big boss one. Gonna do a few more.
I had some more prpblems, mainly to do with the fighting system.
:: When link gets hit, he doesnt fall back - enemies just keep on taking off health, without giving the main character a break.
:: Is it just me or can link walk over enemies?
:: When link attacks... enemies dont fall back. Same issue, the just keep on damaging link.
:: Another one is to do with the holes, link seems to be falling to early inside. His shadow is only touching the hole, and he falls down. (Perhaps implement a drag, like in lttp)? Also he re-spawns when you can still hear him falling.
k :-)
What program do you use for mapping?
http://tilemap.co.uk/mappy.php or http://tilemapeditor.com/screenshots.php or http://www.mapeditor.org/2011/04/tiled-qt-061-released.html ?
I wuldnt mind doing the howling woods In your style I just use one of the above programs, it would allow you to easily edit them
The forest overylay? You mean the leafs that go over? right?
Howling Woods? Is the woods at the beggining right??
Well, if it is a big Uni project I would not use Game Maker and the likes. A lot has already been done for you and they are often quiet limitting. Especially when the language and everything comes with its own development environment. Because you have chosen C++ as your language. Mainly because your most familiar with it. It is best to look at libraries and engines that can work with C++. This place is a good start to look at engines: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_game_engines
PS: just don't cite Wikipedia.org as a source in your report. That is an academic "no no!".
Having lilypads under the lights would give an really magical/sweet feeling
Check this out, (look closely at the doors )
Now with my goddess statues
I was thinking that the sanctuary belongs to chia/created with chia, so it would be pretty high tech (sharing some of same technology as her). The lights form an image of a bell and its sound. The bell are the two red circle. (The smallest circle is the top of a bell, the largest it base). The blue lights represent the the sound that radiates from them when there dinged. Also the largest Blur square is where Chia stands when you first meet her.
Not sure if there actually lights, they just illuminate. You could say that the way the blue lights are formed are also a throwback to skyward sword (the way the time gate forms, actually inspired me, to do something with glowing elements. And the path leading to the central platform is a throwback to spirit tracks (Shapes of the railway).
Where in the room did the chiming bells rest?
I would want to add some statues in the bell sanctuary at the side, of the characters in your sig. I presume there sages? But Im not sure if they would fit.
The red lights represent the bell, while, the blue represent the sound they make
What is your assignment anyway? What is the scope of your assignment and what is the goal? Do you have to make something from scratch? What skills do you have to show? ANd how much time do you have?
If it is just making an RPG engine, then with RPG Maker you pretty much a long way done. With Game Maker also, but if you have to start from scratch and work in something like Visual Studio then you got a lot of work to do.
The perspective scenario : This is the eye of the beholder. ALL HUMANOID NPCs use the same template. What has happened is that on some sprites, the highlighting of the "top of head" is unnoticeable due to the amount of detail on the sprite. I will focus on this after the Water Chapter is done in terms of progress. This CASE IS STILL OPEN.
Lol, truthuly telling it only struck me with link, none of the other npc bothered me, its probably because link has a hat, and im used to it being quite puffy in other games. Links hat just needs to be more visible. Its not really important, just a small asthetic change, so leave that till last .
God your game has such an awsome GB/GBC zelda games vibe. Its amazing.
May I have the honor of redesigning the chimney bell sanctuary?
