Oculus
Download (sound): http://www.for-shiz.com/Oculus.rar
Download (no sound): http://www.for-shiz.com/Oculus_no_sound.rar

Controls:

Mouse!
Left Click = Fire
Right Click = Bomb (only after your progress bar is 25% complete)

Using your bomb, or firing for long periods of time lowers your progress bar. Enemies become more difficult as time passes. It *is* possible to make a level go on forever, if you're feeling ballsy with your score Smiley

Progress bar on bottom. Green boxes above is the level you're on. 5 levels total.

Music by Surasshu! Completely optional due to filesize.

I really love this game, and it was such a close tie between this and Flip-bit! I watched this game evolve from 2 circles into a quick-paced vector-based arcade game! Really love the grid distortion :)

What the...why the...holy mother of Jesus.

Why don't you push this, commercially?  XBOX Live Indie or Arcade? Wii-Ware?
It really is that good enough.  Just throw in a title screen, some leader boards, etc.

Awesome job, Travis. :'D

;3 thx

This is actually only a fraction of what I had planned for Oculus when I first had the idea. Surasshu and I are going to redev it in Blitz with more features and such. Well; more me dev it and Surasshu make more music for it XD

OKay, it is a good game and I like the graphics. And it has some great sound effects. I do have to ask a few questions:

1) Is it correct that the game slows down once in while and then after a while speeds up again?

2) I see a bar below that is filling up with red, but is there also score visible in screen? If no, when do you get to see the score.

3) ANd what is that green square above the bar?

3) ANd what is that green square above the bar?

1) When I played it seemed to only slow down when too much stuff was on screen.

2) Score is located in the title bar of the window, to the left.

3) The green boxes indicate the current level. So 1 box is level 1, 2 boxes = level 2, etc. Not sure how many levels there are as I only played up to level 2 since the game seemed to progress too slow for my taste.

Great game its just easy and advances way too slow. Speeding up progressing 2x will make it more interesting. I was playing for around 10 minutes and was barely a quarter into level 2...

Is it me or did it take me forever to get to the second level ;__;

I think it would benefit if you could move the ... thing in the center (oculus?...)

Love the grid distortion though.

1) No; also there's nothing that spawns off screen more than approximately 32 pixels off :P Basically *what you see is what's created*. The distortion grid however is pretty taxing :P

2) Score is in the title bar :P

3) As stated in the starting post; that's your level indicator (or "wave" gauge)

Anyway the game's really an endurance setup. You're not really progressing levels so it's not really a matter of it progressing faster; enemies will become more and more difficult as you play even one single level. The only benefit to filling the bar is to have a more difficult set of enemy patterns.
