My aunt is giving me her trailer.  SHe said I could have this painting she bought from an 80 year old
lady a year or so ago.  This painting is old as hell.  It is something like 4' X 6'...it's huge!
Anyway, all I can decipher on it is an old stamp on the back(oh it is a cloth painting not on paper).
It says "Vanguard Studios".  I tried Google, but that did not seem to help...

The only other thing I can barely make out, is a set of numbers on the back...
Like 603 GDH or 603 QDH or 603 CDH or 603 _DH I can't make out the QGC looking thing...
I do not even know if the "D" is a "D".  It could be a "n". I assume it is a "D" because everything
else is capitalized so it looks like a "D".

It is a painting of large flowers and a butterfly and weeds/grass.

Can anyone help me out discovering the value and/or history behind this painting?

Take a picture of it.  And I doubt you'll be able to figure out a value online; you would most likely have to find a specialist to give you an estimate for it's real value.

Here are a couple of pics I just took....Sorry for poor quality.
The first is a full pic of the picture.
The second and third are of the artist's signature,

Born in Los Angeles, Lee Burr has a BFA from the University of Southern California. He has served as Chairman, Board of Directors of East Park Gallery in Los Angeles.

He was the director for Vanguard Studios in Beverly Hills, California in the late sixties, and he signed his early works as Lee Reynolds.

This signature (Lee Reynolds) on a piece indicates a staff artist from Vanguard Studios, California's famous art workshop. Vanguard artists are trained at American art schools and have successfully competed with others with equivalent backgrounds to achieve positions as members of the Vanguard staff.

Lee Reynolds Burr, Vanguard Art Director, permits the signature "Lee Reynolds" to be affixed to the best of the works conceived and executed at Vanguard Studios.

When he allowed apprentices at the studio to use the name Lee Reynolds, he switched to signing his personal work as Lee Burr.
Tried looking for some more information, wasn't able to really unless I was willing to fork money over :/

don't think it would be worth that much.

On Ebay, other paintings by Lee Reynolds are only estimated at US $240.00 - US $300.00

EDIT: Actually, reading the above post, I doubt this is even by Burr...style is totally different. I'd say in between $50 and $150....but by all means try bluffing it for 300.

Well it has his signature.  The only other thing I can think of is maybe it was done by one of his apprentices.

EDIT:Maybe I'll find out it is worth like Ten Grand! XD

i doubt it.

i'm 90% sure thats an apprentices painting. Unless one of his apprentices turned into a really famous painter that's worth relatively nothing.
