Title: Works of Miyazaki
Post by: 4Sword on April 02, 2006, 07:09:42 pm: Anyone else like them? I do, especially LAPUTA: Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso, etc.

Post by: 4Sword on April 02, 2006, 10:49:07 pm: For me, what sets his works apart is that there is no apparent evil portrayed and that there is always a deep meaning in the story (tolerance, selfishness vs. duty, environmental issues, etc). I still have to see Howl's Moving Castle though, I will probably find the movie somewhere next week when my school has its spring break.

Yeah I know exactly what you're saing. Like in howl's moving castle (this isnt' really a spoiler), Its sorta about not being afraid, and not running away from your problems.

Plus the artwork and animation is AMAZING in all of his movies. (that I've seen :P)

I liked Princess Monoke a bit more though.. Castle In The Sky was sexy.
