Has anyone tried out GM8 yet?
The new features are quite nice, I'd say there's still room for improvement.

Another reason why we shouldn't ban GM from the new boards.
I say it's pretty firm grounds to start with for beginners.

Haven't checked it out though, I'll probably download it someday.

Yeah my mistake, sorry about that. I didn't meant to say 'banned', but couldn't come up with better words. My apologies, just sue me.

For those who want to see the new features: http://gamemakerblog.com/2009/06/26/game-maker-8-features-listed/ They could at least have improved the room editor hmm...I don't see the point in making a new version when the new features aren't that useful, maybe the new script/code editor is but I didn't test it atm.

I was considering to code my own map/room maker engine for whatever project I make, if they don't change the room editor I will definitely make my own. More time consuming to make but once it's complete then map/level editing will be a blast.

Not sure whether or not I should get GM8, perhaps I should purchase GM7pro now so I also get the free upgrade to GM8, I might still think GM7 is better.

I still think Construct is a better maker as a whole, but the new sprite and script editors are nice, I'd like to see what the hell the triggers do(never did read the new help file, I'm lazy it's summer...)
