Is it based on something (Like Debian or Red Hat) or is it completely original?

I'm using Gentoo at the moment.

Linux is useless for me as it can't mount NTFS without 3rd party.

Pretty much everything in Linux is 3rd party, 4th party, 5th party. There isn't one major company running it.
