2. Although you retain any copyrights to content you own and use in the browser, Google says it has a right to display some of your content, in conjunction with promoting its services. Here's their exact wording.

"By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any content which you submit, post or display on or through, the services. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the services and may be revoked for certain services as defined in the additional terms of those services."

3. Don't be surprised to see more ads.

Traditionally, it is Web pages and not the browser itself that serves ads. Google isn't saying it will change this paradigm, but it's terms of service don't rule that out either.

"Some of the services are supported by advertising revenue and may display advertisements and promotions. These advertisements may be targeted to the content of information stored on the services, queries made through the services or other information.

The manner, mode and extent of advertising by Google on the services are subject to change without specific notice to you."

Lets go google lets go WOO WOO
What's your point? A few more ads and people taking a point in the fine print out of context to make the browser look bad?

Oh, okay.

It's a pretty nice browser. Quite fast compared to any other browser I use.

My point is i was posting a link

If I'm reading that right, it means they can, legally, monitor and publish anything you do with the browser. Visit a porn site? Google know about it. Download music? Google know about it. Try to find out how to build a bomb? Google know about it.

I can just see The Sun headline now, "BRAD PITT USES CHROME TO SEARCH FOR GERMAN MIDGET PORN!"

Now, I doubt they particularly care, but it is a bit Big Brother, isn't it? (I'm aware I am usually the last person to think about personal freedoms)

Yay so now when Al Gore says

"I invented the internet!"

and people say

"No you didn't!"

he can say

"Yeah well I invented a browser for the internet!"

and be correct >_<

Al Gore owns google? LOL.

Also...

Quote
The firm's Internet Explorer program dominates the browser landscape, with 80% of the market.

That's because unlike FireFox (and now Chrome), Microsoft 'forces' Internet Explorer on you at first. When you first install your Microsoft OS, it's right there already by default, and most people who don't know much about computers, don't even know about FireFox, allowing Microsoft to take 80% or so of the market.

Bastards.
And thats why the stadings are
IE
FF
Safari
Opera
instead of
FF
Opera
IE
Safari

Well, I tried it, and its OK. Wait, It uses live search, and its a google browsers. Nice goin, google.
The Blank tab page is similar to operas speed dial, and it intergrates on vists areo much better than anything. meh, 7/10, with my own FF raiting being 8/10, IE being 5/10,Saf. being 2/10, and Opera bein 9/10. Not that anybody cares about my thoughts :P

Using it now. It's awesome.

I don't really have any add-ons with FireFox so I don't really care. At least I won't get random memory leaks.
Chrome looks uh...weird.

Random memory leaks? Is that when firefox builds up the mem usage >_>; right now it's at 121MB, it started at something like 20.

You have to understand the definition of "services" before you think that that means they can take anything you use and use it for their own personal gain (I think that would be the right way to refer to it).

It's a point in the fine print that's taken out of context to make the browser seem bad.

I'm using it right now, and it's very fast and looks great. It's to early for me to say if I prefer this over Firefox. But my first impression is very good, and I'm curious on how this browser will evolve.
