Just thought I would give a little news on how Version 0.3 is coming.

Me and TheBerryster have now added/Removed:
New Inventory,
Re-programmed Octoroc
More Bugs removed

Will be added
Miniboss
New Item
Rolling (Link rolling)


If anyone else has some suggestions on anything else that should be added into version 0.3, please say so! :)

Version 0.3 can be expected in... a week or so. XD

Looks like a great engine so far, but added to what needs work:
how you cant change to face a direction if you can't move there

eg, there's a wall to your direct left, you're facing up, you cant press left to face left as the wall is in the way

Oh yes, I forgot about that! It will be fixed by version 0.3 XD

Zelda Projects / Update - Version 0.2 released.

UPDATE! (Fast, eh? XD)

Version 0.2 is released, and it includes:

The Bow! - You can use this item to shoot enemies! (Right now you have unlimited arrows). Use Z/X to use (Depending on what slot you have it equiped to)
Switching items - Z/X (You ca choose what weapon you want equiped to each slot)

Bugs no More! XD
Walking through door - Fixed.
When falling down a pit, your sprite stays as the falling sprite - Fixed.
When Menu is opened, the game does not freeze - Fixed.
Menu opens really slowly - Fixed.
Continued Slashing - Fixed.
Falling into a pit - Works much more nicely.
When Exiting the little house, you are not right in front of the door - Fixed

Thats all I can remember, if anyone notices anything else I forgot to mention, please tell me

Coding / Re: Changing a color of the sprite in GM6

The most simple way I know of doing this, not including just changing the sprite, is

1. Make links sprite black and white.
2. in the create event for link, put
Code: [Select]
image_blend=c_green
3. When you want to change links color, just put
Code: [Select]
image_blend=color Replace the "color" with the color you want.

The only problem with this, is that all of links body will be green, instead of just his cloths...

Hey everyone, me and my Brother (TheBerryster) have been working on a Zelda game together. We currently do not have a name for it, but thought we would post it here to see what people think.

the game is programmed in Game Maker, (Using GML code). I programmed everything from scratch, and my brother (TheBerryster) did all the sprite editing. the original sprites can be found on the Spriters Recource (Although ours have changed alot from the originals, as my brother edited and changed most of them).

the game is in 2D, and the original sprites are from Links Awakening, for the Game Boy Color.

Screenshots: - out of Date, New ones will be added when Version 0.3 is released

Controls
Arrow Keys: Move Link
Enter: Open Menu (From there, you can turn the music on/off) (Use mouse to go through thebes menu,except in the items page, use the arrow keys)
Z: Swing/Slash sword
Hold Z without moving: Charge Spin Attack After finished charging, release Z and Link will do the Spin Attack)
F4: Full Screen/Not Full Screen
CTRL: Take Screenshot

Known Bugs
  • if Link is hurt, he can get knocked into a bush, and become stuck (Slash the bush to get un-stuck)
  • if you jump of a cliff facing down, you may become stuck at the bottom of the cliff
Please report any other bugs found.

Octoroc fully re-programmed
