Graphics / Ever wanted to be a zombie...?
« on: April 18, 2009, 05:59:05 pm »
 Well, now is your chance! Simply post two pictures, one of the side of your head, and one of the front; and I shall model you out and use you in an upcoming game by myself. : F

 Yeah, as much as I tried to make that sound like it is a privalage, I actually need reference pics for my models. Anyone who is willing to help, please do; I could really use it.

 An example of HOW to do it is this: (Using Bret from Flight of the Conchords.)

(: D His mouth wasn't modeled that open btw, I gave him facial bones and opened his mouth for dramatic effect.)

 Simply take a picture of the side and front of your head, and post it. I'd prefer that you kept the same emotion on each time; and if you have long hair - To clip it back. Try taking a couple of photos, and posting the best two that you can really see the outline/details of your face.

 Thanks to anyone who can help.

Coding / Irrlicht question
« on: July 16, 2008, 11:20:17 pm »
 Right, I've been thinking about this most of the night and have come to no conclusion on actually how to do it. In this screenshot:

 As you can see, when Leon is aiming, a transparent red line goes from the end of his gun, to the target for aiming. So, does anyone have any ideas, or for that matter, examples on how you could?

« on: October 17, 2007, 01:06:07 pm »
 I have adware, an annoying bunch at that. (It dosen't fully open the windows, just keeps opening hundreds of them tell my task bar is filled.) My adware remover does not seem to be able to get rid of it and when I go to do it manuelly, I can never find the directory. So... does anyone know how I can get rid of it for free?

 Well, considering the majority of ZFGC are Nintendo fans, I sort of doubt this topic will go well but I'll try. Anyway, discuss.

 BTW: Anyone without G4, here:

Using a $30 dollar camera and this piece of Podtech software that's still in development, you can play with computers just like Tom Cruise did in Minority Report, by grabbing files by the nipples and dragging them around the screen. Using topological depth technology, it figures out what's the static background, and differentiates it between the changing foreground. By pinching areas within the camera's view you section off ovals which you can use to rotate and move around the display, and the researcher said more gestures are being worked on. What you're looking at is basically an advanced, but limited, version of Eye Toy in disguise, but think about how many games you could use this technology with. Waving to other people on PlayStation Home, pointing soldiers around the battlefield, clicking on enemies in W.O.W., literally grabbing Pikmin on screen and throwing them around, giving a last boss the finger before delivering the final blow, and of course, grabbing boobs.

Expect Microsoft to use this technology to jump into the motion sensitivity scene late (even though they had it first with a failed controller years ago). Instead of a knock-off Wiimote they'll just let you do it with your hands by inserting a chip in your wrist. I always knew Bill Gates would beat everyone else to the 'mark of the beast' technology and prove that he's the devil.

 I want this... now.

Coding / Deleting a piece of a string...
« on: November 29, 2006, 02:23:29 am »
I have a bit of a problem, in my draw event I have this:
Code: [Select]
cur_string = cur_string+keyboard_string
draw_text(0,0,""+string(cur_string))

if keyboard_string > ""{
 keyboard_string = ""
}
Basicly all it does is add the string the dude has typed and prints it.

 Anyway, how would I go about deleting a piece from the string? Like, if I pressed backspace, the last letter I typed would be deleted from the current string.

[Ps]
I know of the other way to print a string that someone types but it does not work for what I'm trying to do.

Devoted reader Jonathan "I'm not the lead singer of Korn" Davis risked life and limb to get us this shot. Three of the hardest of the hardcore (or least sane of the hardcore, you decide) already have their mushy butts in line at a Burbank, California Best Buy, prepared to be the first through the doors when the PlayStation 3 goes on sale next Friday. Nine days from now. Looks like the rest of you can skip this location.

Still, if you're going to be in line for over nine days, you had better have the right supplies. Plastic penguin? Check. Lawn chairs? Yup. Toilets? Those potted plants will do.

The dream of scoring a PS3 at retail seems less and less like reality as the days pass. Thanks again, Jonathan. Michael McWhertor

Graphics / Eagles tower 3d
« on: October 10, 2006, 01:48:00 am »
Well I've made yet another map. This one is stolden from Link's awakening and is a temple from the game. I present to you, eagles tower 3d:

A view of the whole tower. Showing the shape, textures,etc.

Showing off the detailed lighting and bottum of the tower.

The part where you fight that dude. Showing really nothing new.

Recapping what you've seen of the tower.

A crappy render in Blitz3d. I was origanally going to have more then just dark clouds but I got lazy.

 The textures where made by some dude making a Majora's Mask texture pack. (Not really sure who)

For reference:
http://sprites.fireball20xl.com/nintendo/zelda/la/laeagletower.png

Also: I am not making LA in 3d or anything like that. This was made to see what Eagles tower would look like as a Super Smash bros areana.

In this topic you'll find a collection of overlays for you to use in your game. These where collected up by various people on ZFGC so please credit the owner. The person who found it is optional.

Fog/Wind/Smoke:

 This overlay has multiple uses depending on what you use it for. It could be some smoke near a volcanoe, slow moving fog or even a sand storm in a desert.

Graphics / Mercury Lighthouse 3d - Golden Sun
« on: August 28, 2006, 02:11:42 am »
Well, I decided to model out Mercury Lighthouse in the 3d world studio. It took about 3 hours and its not perfect. This is still a WIP because I need to model out other parts in Wings3d.

In Blitz3d:

http://www.64digits.com/download.php?name=num3.PNG&id=10858

http://www.64digits.com/download.php?name=num5.PNG&id=10860
http://www.64digits.com/download.php?name=num6.PNG&id=10861

In the modeler:
http://www.64digits.com/download.php?name=num7.PNG&id=10862
http://www.64digits.com/download.php?name=num8.PNG&id=10863

Blitz3ds fps stayed around 30.
3d World Studio stay 60 streight.

For comparision here are some screens from Golden Sun:

What needs to be done:
The girls pouring water
The blocks
Ripping the textures from Golden Sun
Texturing the model

.A free, easy to use, texturing program that can import 3ds max. I need this because wings3d doesn't allow texturing at this point. Thank you in advance.
