Your help would be greatly appreciated Foreshadower! As for the gameplay, it has that first person style seen in Dragon Quest and Earthbound.

Also, I played your demo and it's pretty good! Only thing, can the resolution be scaled up? I wanted Shane's art to be the actual in game visuals whilst in battle.

As for the HTML5, I hadn't even considered it. Sounds like an interesting prospect, though. If you think it'd be beneficial then I think we should try it! :)

I'm going to be at work all day, so if you need to contact me, my email is: brandonsylver@live.com

So long time no see, ZFGC (not really). Here's an update on Outlandish! The search for a programmer hasn't been going exactly well, but I'd like to announce two new members to the team! Vince, our composer; and Shane, the creature designer!

Gameplay-wise the game has changes significantly. No longer is it a top-down SoM-style action-adventure, but is an RPG more akin to Dragon Quest or Earthbound. The change was made because the art would suffer within the limitations of a top-down game. That reminds me; below are some of the creatures that Shane has designed in the last couple days. Unfortunately, due to an error it won't allow me to attach the song that Vince composed but I assure you, it's quite cool.

I've been watching this for a while now. I really like your style of art and your character designs. Walt is my favorite so far. Dat beard and hair! Very cool project you've got going. I wish you the best of luck in finding a programmer who can help you make your project successful.

Holy cow! Thanks, man! It really means a lot. Expect a better Walt picture in the next couple days.

Anyways, I have a finalized name for Baldurdash! It's [drum roll]...[more drumroll]...[wait for it]...[drumroll]...Outlandish!

Basically what this is how the story goes:

It's about a Samurai-in training from the isolated land of Kana. To complete his training, he must sail on a pilgrimage to a foreign land, and must only return once he's found something that proves his honor and worth as a Samurai. However, his trip is off to a rough start. The seas are savage and wreck his boat. Washing up on the shore, he is taken in by the mad doctor Walt and his companion Mabel.

So Outlandish will have a condensed Seiken Densetsu gameplay style and will choose exploration over a drawn-out, cliché story. I promise you guys that you'll see some really cool locations.

Also, for those of you wondering who Mabel is, she's Walt's companion and a living doll of his own creation. Here's some concept art of her:

Here's Plait's somewhat redesign. His head isn't any bigger, it's his cape/ring that's smaller. Also, no more hands or stumps on the sides of his head.

Been addicted to Infected Mushroom lately and this song has been comforting me.

I actually saw them live in January, they were AMAZING. One of the best nights of my life.

I've been listening to Starship Amazing a lot recently. They've been helping me get my artistic inspiration on. For those of you who don't know, Starship Amazing consists of the Happy Video Game Nerd and his buddy Calvin.

Thank you very much, Star! Right now I'm starting on the story, but I'm afraid that I'll hit a wall soon. I've been considering scouting around for a programmer and maybe a spriter, if I don't like how my own work comes out. I can only do so much on my own, and a second and maybe third person would provide good input. The real problem is knowing where to look. This is the only forum I frequent, so the only programmers I know of are here. I won't ask anybody here because I know many of them are busy, working on the Community Project, or will just ignore me. If anyone could point me in the direction of a programmer or  a place where I can find one, please let me know.

And thank you for your kind words everyone! :D

To anyone who cares, this isn't dead. To prove it, here is some more artwork!

Arcanians:
Cyupie:

Plait(again):

Walt:

Violette:

Also, more C+C would be nice. It's hard to gauge whether anyone would like to see this happen or not. :)

ill just leave this here lol.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/21/playstation-4-not-backwards-compatible-with-retail-or-digital-games

and this..

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2013/02/21/definition-of-insanity-psn-purchases-game-saves-wont-transfer-to-playstation-4/

i find it a bit disappointing.

There's no way that the PS4 could run games created for use on a cell processor-based system. The x86 and the cell just have different architecture. Not to mention the x86 was a necessary sin, seeing as the cell processor was so hard to develop for.

Reminds me somewhat of Pea from Ni no Kuni. There aren't many green-haired little girls with white clothes named Pea I guess...  XD
In fact, your Pea looks like a mixture of NnK's Pea and TLoZ:SS's Fi. I like the result, though.

Heh, now that I look at it, you're right! Hadn't even thought about it. Also, here are the updated versions of Pea and Atsuo:

Atsuo:

Pea:

I thought I'd give Pea some spherical earrings that enhance the "Pea" experience. Plait will be up soon. Also, he has hands.

Here's another enemy; Appin':

I called him that because:
1. He's an apple.
2. He's always appin' around.

So I've upgraded from Sketchbook Express to PaintTool Sai and the difference is night and day. To commemorate this, I'll be re-drawing all of my characters in a slightly better looking style, starting with Tucker:

Also, here is the first enemy design:

Also, I'm thinking of renaming the project to Secret of Hera, because I'm focusing on a Secret of Mana/Evermore gameplay style. Thoughts?

Personally, I like the new Dante SO much better. He's still intentionally cheesy, but it's not 24/7 like the old one was. SHEESH.

I really like Plait's new design!

Thanks Star! I thought he needed some feet and some 'oomph'. Also here's a new character:

Tucker actually speaks in ancient tongue, and Pea is his translator. I gave her that name because she's very small and green. she'd be about the size of a coke bottle. She's also cute to boot! :)

I had designed him a few weeks prior to the competition. Although he's undergone a few changes since then. :D
