I'm going to make a small Zelda game in Unity. 2D gameplay, like the old games. Right now it has a Wind Waker Link model, rigged and animated, and an 8-directional walking engine. Broken sign reading, and a half-completed hearts system (not pictured).

I'll keep you posted.

Thus you are going to make a game in the style of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks (minus the touch screen controls). Interesting. Good luck on it.

Theforeshadower: I am using the same models as that old project (although even those I've cleaned up, removed texture seams, reanimated, etc), but all the code is brand new. Plus, that game was supposed to resemble Wind Waker's gameplay in full 3D, but it was clumsy and clunky. This is going to keep it simple at that 3/4 angle everyone's used to.

Niek: Basically, yeah. Thanks. :P

IMO, a PH/ST style Zelda without the touch screen controls sounds like a great idea (I hate the touch screen controls). I also wish you the best of luck.

I actually liked the touchscreen controls. It gave you far more precision and faster response time.

I thought the touchscreen controls were nice as well, and I could emulate them with the mouse, but its going to be enough work making a game with keyboard controls, right?

In other news, I've been busy reinstalling Windows 7 (I was using Release Candidate still, and it was set to expire in 4 or 5 days, haha), but I did model, texture, and sorta animate a Chu Chu enemy. No AI yet though.

I don't understand why people just came up to this kind of view since PH... I would say you should focus in making a Minish Cap Engine in 3D then you should have all Stuff in the Engine you'll ever need for a Zelda Game ;)

Ive been working on swordplay, its going to be more reminiscent of the 3d games with drawing your sword and sheathing it. In a good way though, you'll hardly notice it. ;)
