I've got a form with a button on it, that when pressed i want it to disable itself for a period of time, to which it will then allow the user to press a key and store its key code

i've got the button and the timer done, but i'm unsure as to how to do the keypress bit

Just hook into the clicked event, or if your to lazy to do that, double click the button in the form editor.
