We've actually been discussing this a bit privately. Originally the idea was to promote staff unity, but it seems to be causing confusion as members of the Events Staff etc. are being PMed with requests to moderate things that they can't do anything about. Hopefully something will change soon. In the meantime, there really aren't too many of us who are actually general mods. The rest are working on other aspects of the site or forum.
Originally it was just like what you said, with separate categories based on what each member's role was, but there got to be so many categories that everyone was lumped together to prevent confusion. Guess that one kinda backfired, hehe.
Oh, and MiN was actually an admin, mostly for technical reasons dealing with fixing and maintaining the forum/site, though he also stepped in to help with moderation issues when needed.
EDIT: if it helps, the people who I know are moderators are: myself, Kleaver, 4Sword, TomPel, CrystalAngel04, AoDC, MasterGohan Zero, Fox, and I think cpprograms and imfletcher as well. I'm probably forgetting one or two, so I apologize if I have.
