I need someone to be my mentor...
Someone who has patience and knows C++ like the back of his hand....okay maybe not that well but still pretty good with C++....

I want to learn to program with C++ so badly, but I can't afford college and I can't force myself to learn a programming language on my own without someone pushing me along...I am surprised I taught myself HTML to be honest with you....

So, any takers?I am online everyday...I've tried tutorials and such...my only other option is C++ books but I have absolutely no money....

C++ is a somehow difficult language. It's one of the best languages, but it's hard, specially if you can't learn it by yourself. I think you should first learn another computer language (such as VB, GML, Java...) and then move to C++.

But anyway, do you want to know only the basics (i. e. functions, structures, pointers, classes, polymorphism, etc.) or also how to make graphics and sound? (i. e. Open GL, Direct X, and other libraries)

Also, Do you want to learn it to make games or just programs in general?

Program in general but more towards a game perspective...I'm talking like 2d side scrolling or over head 2d games...Please don't reply with,"GET GM NOW!!!"I have it and well....I even got the book and it stick looked like crap to me if it is limited why dive into it now...I understand syntax and the if,and,so,nor, etc kind of functions...I was top in my pc class in highschool and Excel had that !@#$% in it....At least we had to learn to do that !@#$% in excel...I even wrote my program in excel to figure out sudoku for you ...lol...

Yeah but I dont have access to a printer else I would print the whole damn thing so I don't have to minimize....maximize...minimize....maximize...etc....It's a good site though...
Oh and is this basic?

10 PRINT "Hello"

I used to know how do that !@#$% when I was 8...I actually programmed a paper, rock, scissors game on our old dos based computer....that was given to use before we knew that there was such a thing as windows...lol

Yes, this is basic.

As for learning C++, I can help you with the basics (i. e. functions, classes, pointers, structures, etc.) but I still haven't learned how to make graphics and sound... also I don't have much experience in C++, I'm more used to VB6.0 and GM.

Okay. I'll add you to my MSN so that we can speak directly.

(I'm sorry that I won't be able to talk to you right now, I'll have to go to a course right now and I'll return at 4:30 PM. Then we'll talk and decide how I'll help you, ok?)
