Yay widescreen!  ...wait... this isn't widescreen.  There are two black bars on each side of the screen (not like 4:3; like just a tiny bit.  WTF Capcom?  It does look nice in 480p, and it's definitely more widescreen.  It's still not true widescreen, though.  I've just started, but I like the controls so far.  I'm hoping the widescreen issue is user-end, but it doesn't look that way right now (Super Paper Mario plays in widescreen without any problems).  I guess I could take some pictures, too.

So that red area is just black nothingness on my TV.  By the way, it's really hard to take pictures of a screen (getting it centered and not moving the camera).

-HOTEL DUSK-  I searched and didn't find a topic.  I just finished it, and it was by far my favorite game on the DS.  The characters are so perfect.  Their dialogue works; their stories work.  Even the unique animations used for each character as they talk seem perfect.  All these things work together to provide some genuinely interesting and believable characters.  The plot is compelling and unpredictable.  Your brain will be working up until the very end (mine was at least, and I'm no simpleton).  Everything in this game fits together so perfectly.  It's kind of like reading a VERY good book.  The pace is kind of slow, but that's a good thing.  Things unfold as they should, and there's never an overwhelming amount of questions or unknowns.  You guys (and girls?) should not miss out on this game.

Entertainment / Is anybody else bored with games?

Well, I'm really bored with games.  I have Oblivion, Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime, Mario Kart DS, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, and a bunch of other great games I have never feel motivated to finish.  I even had to push myself to finish HL2 Episode One because I want to find out what happens with the story.   Some of the weird games for the DS have helped me get back into games, so I'm hoping the Wii will help even more.  Does anybody else feel this way?

Entertainment / Wii USB 2.0 ports

It's very likely that Nintendo will use them for something.  This might be the other hardware secret we've heard about.  A USB 2.0 external hard drive?  I'm not getting my hopes up that Nintendo would do the smart thing and allow a hard drive, but making it optional would keep the cost of the actual console down.  What do you think they'll use them for?

Other Discussion / Windows Vista

So... what do you think about Windows Vista?  I have some pics at http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v514/Ocarinaoftimefan/Vista/ (password=blah) and you can just do a Google Image search.  After spending some time with Vista, I'm glad they delayed it; they need something more.  I just hope what they say about DX10 is true.  Urge doesn't work, but WMP 10 is pretty.  It's nice that they included Media Center (do they do that with XP now?).   I definitely wouldn't spend money for it the way it is now.  I know it's a beta, but I don't see this going anywhere...
