My boredom as of late has reached an all new high, and so as a result...

I welcome you all to Grunty's Lair: Minecraft!

All of the rooms connect to each other as they do in the game.  I'm currently up to the room where the Gobi's Valley entrance is.  Also planning on doing full stages :)

This is an SMP map which I don't have access to.  I will however, be taking video when it's complete!

You can actually go into your AppData>Roaming>.minecraft>saves>World# to get the map and put it on a server or zip it up for download. Or at least I'm pretty sure you can.

Yes, but it's SMP which means it's stored on the server.

Just ask the server owner for a backup of the map, I've done that with a server before. If the owner isn't an ass, that is.

Damn...how can you guys enjoy Minecraft so much?  I see nothing to enjoy from it other than a "Hey, check it out! I completely remade <insert a location/building,whatever> in Minecraft."
I played it for maybe an hour at best and thought it was a joke.

I would rather try to recreate a real world city/civilization in Sim City or Civilization.

It looks neat, MG-Zero, but damn >.>
If you had the time and were bored senseless, do the inside of the pyramid from Mario 64.
That's my challenge I present to you.  j/k

People who don't know to make a shelter the first night usually say exactly what you said :p

The game is pretty fascinating once you understand the dynamic :\

No, this is in Minecraft, it's a sandbox environment where you build !@#$%.

Anyhow, 3 more shots up.  This room was a paaaiiiin in the ass to make.

EDIT: Oh also, I've mined over 12,000 cobble while doing this..

I see it as Legos for grownups, with monsters. It's definitely not a game for everyone.

As if to imply Legos aren't already for grownups?  T__T

I think I played Minecraft for about 5 minutes before I got distracted by something and never picked it up again because it bored me...

<_< I kind of hate when people dismiss this game so quickly... If you play it once and give up in 5 minutes, it means you walked around in circles not knowing what to do, and never actually got to play the game. It'd be like playing Mario 64 but quitting the before actually entering the castle.

Typically my first 5 minutes are used harvesting wood so I can get !@#$% together for a work bench and some picks... Then I build a shelter real quick before nightfall. The next day is smooth sailing because I already have all my !@#$% together to build a supreme fort.

Um, 5 minutes is plenty of time.  If a game can't catch my interest within 5 minutes either by story or gameplay, I don't think it's worth it.

<_<... What games captivate within 5 minutes? Almost none. That's not enough time to even get into the game. That mentality will really cause you to miss out on 90% of the best games.

Unless you're buying and playing games strictly because of the commercials, best of luck enjoying any game that isn't shoved down your throat by mass advertising. :x
