I just got a new keyboard (goodbye extra usb ports X_X) and I found an odd button...it's right above the number pad and it says F II (F with a roman numeral 2) I pressed it but it didn't do anything..Anyone know what this thing does?

Some keyboards have two possible functions for each F key. It's possible that it switches the keys from the "F I" set of F functions to the "F II" set of functions. Any lights on the keyboard change when you do that? That'd be a good indicator.

nope, no lights go on. hmm..*presses F5
EDIT: nothing different there

have you checked the instructions?

Is it F11? XD

My gramps' Notebook's keyboard got something similar. It's an Fn-key, though, and when you hold it and press some F-buttons (F1, F2, F3...) you can change things like the volume, the screen-brightness, the screen-contrast etc... are there any special icons on your keys that you don't know?

my laptop has an fn button too, when I pres it I can use the numpad.

oh you have to hold it..that would probably explain it..
well f11 locks everything but the others don't do a thing.

:P That's sorta useful too, eh? XD What about some photos?

yeah, im guessing its an alternate functin button.
are there any keys that have extra images on them?
if so, try holding this FII button and pressing those keys (like pres "a" and holding shift to get "A"). if not, just try holding the button and pressing random keys anyway :P
and it may be that you need to install and set up crap to actually get those functions to work in the first place
