A rubber pencil eraser (one that has not been used) usually helps out. At least, it was the best method to use with old NES and SNES cartridges, so I'm assuming it'd be the same situation here.

There's such a double standard about religion in the modern world. Catholics can gather, wear white robes, and say "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and be considered normal.

But if my friends and I gather, wear black robes, and say  "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", we're considered cultists.

The way I use for all cartridge games and always have is rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. It says not to use solvents and stuff but they work quite well. Dip the q-tip into the rubbing alcohol and swab the connecter clean. Also works for discs; use a cotton swab instead.

When I rub it with a clean eraser, doesn't it leave some eraser parts?

Yes, I'm really in a N64 phase! and loving it! :D

So after I did that I just let it dry?

Ive never had a problem, but surely you could then blow them out? They'd be easier then the dirt.

Dont blame ya, my N64 is set up with Pokemon Stadium in right now. the first 2 generation pokemon games were the best, and stadium 1 & 2 were so much better then Collusiem, XD and Battle Revolution.

HB, don't use a lot. Just enough to get the tip wet. And it shouldn't take long to dry. Obviously when doing this with a CD it'll take longer, but it works great!

I can vouch for the QTip cleaner method as well. Just make sure you have descent swab or it'll shred on you x.x

Well some times a cartridge is so dirty that you just can't blow the dirt away. Plus you'll make the cartridge a bit wet, some people almost create a !@#$% fountain when they blow. And no I'm not one of these people. Anyway the connector doesn't become happy when it's wet.

There are many methods; I know someone who uses dish soap to effectively clean CDs. I've seen him do it and it worked. But I use the q-tip/cotton swab method. It's universal.

I cleaned the Conkers bad fur day cartridge, with alcohol(96%) and a q-tip. But it sadly didn't seem to work! I guess I had the bad luck of buying a cartridge that's broken. >_>

96%? The stuff I use is only 50%! It's diluted isopropyl alcohol. Maybe the concentration was too much!

I don't think that's the problem! Because after I injected the cartridge in my n64, the screen just remained black. But when I blew in it again, the whole tv screen was filled with distortion. And that's the same effect it gave before I used alcohol.

Well it's not a surefire method. But it usually works. And if the game is broken I guess you're screwed either way. :(
