Asking for a test isn't rushing anything, it's just hard to judge it with only images since there are alot of technical parts of a game that you can discern from just images like flow, collisons, interactions etc, though if they don't think they don't want to post a test then It's not like we are forcing them too.

Though I recall the beast that I ended up making, was more of a break everything in it's path, they possibly summoned it, but since it doesn't obey anybody it just went off to do it's thing, and the sheikah happen to be close by so it could of unintentionally did what it was supposed to and go terrorise the sheikah or a while, but ends up failing since they sealed it away in their temple and such, so they wouldn't call it a victory I guess. Which would show that the gerudo initiated the conflict, or started it back up. And at this point since it's been so long most don't even remember why they are fighting each other aside for land, even though on the sheikah's end it was originally, and since nobody except the really old elders know the full story, it's more so turned into
a kinda land war that the sheikah wanted to avoid.

And my thoughts on the other mentioned things is that I think Ganon is just letting his people do whatever, since I think that they wouldn't know that ganon was the one who ended up throwing him in the desert to fend for himself and when he grew able went after ganon to hyrule's castle city.

and even though the sheikah are allies with hylians, due to maybe some political tensions, or that hylians find themselves more important than the 'poor' desert dwelling sheikah. So that could possibly prevent the hylians from even listening to pleas for help and such with the hylians egos which could have been started by ganon himself to hinder the sheikah who know the truth.

and I went and did a look back on Abigail since it says something along the lines of her opening up the proving grounds for link to earn the fire and ice arrows to unseal the temple, I agree that it should be used to break the weakened seal for the temple. and when link is about to open up the temple he is ambushed by a group of remaining sheikah but then the door opens and they flee in different directions since all anybody remembers about the temple, is that opening it is deadly bad luck for everyone around it.

That's about all I can think of at the moment.

So I'm not sure what you mean, I'm assuming you want a custom since in Link's Awakening there was not sprite of links shooting an arrow. So I'll see what I can do, no promises though.

I think htis game has a p good base and potential, I think that it'd look better if everything was in one sprite style so there aren't clashing sprites, and if you are able to or find someone who could help you with that I think it'd make the game much better, since clashing graphics can be a bit of a turn off for a deal of players.

Since I doubt the sheikah would want to risk the raging beast getting out and link getting into it for his less than noble quest, I'm thinking that link could instead when he gets to where the elders are supposed to be it could be all empty and something in the room could hint to a secret passageway which when link opens it he would go in and find the elders who are surprised he has found them during a secret meaning walking in when they are talking about what they should do with the unsealing ritual scroll for the temple, and then well since they can't do anything against link being the village elders link kinda takes the scroll and goes and uses it to break the seal of the temple and go inside.

well that's my thoughts since the shiekah won't just give it away link could probably have to take it from them which either way they aren't to thrilled with what's happening, and probably would send some sheikah to go after link, which he could probably encounter within the temple or something as a miniboss or single room thing that could show they aren't happy with link going after the cog and breaking into the temple and such.

Hmm, it's been awhile I need to look back that the charactors for the area since i'm not sure how long it's been since I looked at them so I can kinda help make it a little more detailed and fluent whatever we decide on doing for it.

I'm fine with it as long as you don't kinda copypasta hte design since 1) it's stylized for minish cap style artwork and 2) it's a custom desing not using any zelda base so I'd be fine with it if you do some tweeking so it's not the extact same, and give me credit for the design. Also sorry about hte late reply been busy working on an indie game so I really haven't checked zfgc in a few days, same with my email.

A Skeleton Limping

An Oni Fly Well Flying

and of course do not use this stuff because obviously it's being made for personal use.

I have been working on the Titan today, I only did the walking animation.
I´m going to do all the animations and then improve the sprite.

EDIT: I redid the hands, i´ll put it under the previous one to compare.
WELP, you completely disregarded my thought out critique, a really important thing to note: Do not animate a sprite if there are problems that you know need fixing, it's better to fix the original sprite  an then attempt to animate it instead of redoing hte animation everytime you attempt to fix the sprite.

Other Projects / [Ludim Dare 26 Entry] Gors Cross
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:45:37 pm »
So me and two other people got together for a game jam aka ludum dare, and the theme was minimalism. So one of them(someone by the name of gors) suggested an Idea he came up with a few days before and well we put it together, with me making most of the basic spritework and all the programming, someone named Gors with his amazing piece that blows my original chiptune out of the water. So the basis of it is a 5 sided flat rubix cube in the shape of a cross. The basic controls on keyboard work kinda similar to yoshi cookie.

Looks pretty good, though my only gripes are the difficulty level and it not having a parallax background(Which a slowly moving one would give the background a little more depth).

Edit: one pretty major issue as it doesn't tell you the controls.

Edit 2:Either hte controls are broken on the link or something as I can't figure out how you jump.

2) Should time be halted only inside buildings, or should it stop when you go into a town as well? OoT at least stopped time when you went inside a town. Which was cool because you could freeze time as the sun was setting and enjoy the twilight lighting for longer :D
Well, I had been pondering whether to let time continue inside buildings. But the reason against it is that buildings can be closed and opened during night and day. Thus when a building would close and Link is still in it, would he be kicked out or be locked in? What about the people that inhabit those buildings. With towns and the overworld this problem does not really exist, because they are always accessible.

Why I still think that time should continue  in towns is because it gives pressure on night time and daytime events. You could save, but you could also restart these events. It just gives a gameplay challenge. And I think stretching the twilight ambiance is kind of a none issue. I don't know how day and night will be done, but I preffer that it is done by a palette swap, with a palette for day and a palette for night, instead of an overlay that gradually becomes more opaque. The best example would be King Mob's Shadowgazer project.
I more or less agree with this, I'm thinking depending on the building will depend if you get locked in or kicked out like you mentioned, I mean if you were a shop owner you'd most likely close down the shop after making  sure everyones out right? So I guess time could still pass even when your inside buildings/dungeons, I think it'd give a little bit of strategy to it so theres a little bit more thought into what you do. King mob's example with shadowgazer is probably a good idea, it'd give it a more of an amience and make it kinda visually attractive, but not be overly distracting

I don't think there'd be many forts along the river, but maybe a some war camps and then the last one being a fort would work.

I still think my idea form the suggestion about having smaller comps(innitiated by previous winner) and then having a larger monthly comps(with more time and such) could be more effective than just having a single comp a month and it only happening like one or two months during the overall year. If any of the staff(Ash or Steve) would like a more in depth explaination of what I mean feel free to talk to me over Google Talk.
