If you dont like cartoons now, the only reason you think old cartoon are better is nostalgia.

When you were a child you also probably liked Power Rangers. More likely than not, it was your favorite show.
Children have shitty taste and dont know what's really good. They dont know better. Naturally, most children will acquire fond memories of things that really are kinda shitty.
If you dont like Modern cartoons, I imagine you wouldn't like old ones if it wasn't for nostalgia either.
And Chowder is pretty cool. My favorite cartoons are Foster's Home and Avatar.

One of the Networks on Digital Cable had 2 episodes of Are You Afraid of The Dark on everyday for like a week straight around Halloween. It !@#$% ruled! It honestly was the best week ever in long time for shows.

The best cartoons are from the early era...way before my time. 1940-70 had the best stuff...
Tom and Jerry, Road Runner, Sylvester and Tweety. Sure, some of these have 'modern' versions out, but the new stuff doesn't hold a candle to those older, better versions.
Of course DangerMouse (1981 to 1992) was pretty !@#$% awesome too.

Sure, Static Shock tried a little too hard to be gangsta (and fell flat on its arse most of the time) and the Superman cartoon was inconsistent at best, but the Batman series (plural) plus the movies plus Justice League more than made up for it.

Flapjack is alright if you watch enough of it, it is just that different and odd to get used to liking. I like Captain K'nuckles and other things about the show. It feels odder if you watch it after Spongebob Squarepants though.

though I'm not really an Avatar fan myself (I don't watch TV much) but from what I've seen that show had amazing animation if nothing else. It was a nice blend of eastern and western animation that worked really well.

Last good cartoons besides fairly odd-parents, which actually sucks now, was the "Stephen Spielberg presents:" Generation. Disney Channel doesn't play cartoons here anymore, so I dunno what anyone's talking about. All they play here now is Hanna Montana, That's so Raven, and Suite Life. Walt Disney's body is probably rolling over in it's cryogenic chamber, and his head is probably doing backflips in it's jar.
Anyways, cartoons that were witty (Like jokes that go over kid's heads, but would slay parents) such as animaniacs, or pinky and the brain... Those were good cartoons. Everything now days seems to be geared towards "tweens"... Ben 10... all those... Waste of airtime. Foster's was the only show I would watch on CN when I watched TV about 2 years ago :P Even "mature" cartoons like Family Guy and the simpsons aren't funny anymore, and rely on stupid humor to get cheap laughs.
Just my views though, don't get pissed at me.

No, he's making a very good point on the matter. I remember when I wanted to download a song (not saying what one), I just downloaded the whole album. Unfortunately, the rest of the songs were crap. However I really just wanted to listen to more of their songs, no matter how bad they were. So I kept listening to them and now unless I listen to them really closely I can't see through the fact that I've grown accustomed to their sound.
It's a similar process to when you try and find the faults in something you've made or something you're doing, after a while it gets very hard because you think that it's perfect. That's when you really need someone else's honest opinion.

Scooby Doo is still one of my favorite cartoons, and I do enjoy an occasional Jose and the Pussycats. *Hugs Boomerang channel*. You don't get cartoons like that anymore. Now-a-days, most cartoons try to cater especially to the younger crowd.
Also: Tiny Toons and Animaniacs -- I'd watch those all day!

Scrappy Doo started the decline of the series, and around that time, Fred and Velma left the group. Thus, Daphne became leader and boy did she change! She was no longer "Danger-Proned-Daphne" she was smart and sensible... That era also introduced that boy (I can't remember his name). Fast forward to A Pup Named Scooby Doo (which was pretty cool too, I loved the dance scenes) and then the atrocity that was(is?) What's New Scooby Doo? (or whatever the hell THAT was(is?) called).

Dr. Albert Shaggleford had made some enemies before disappearing. Among the most dangerous is the archetypal evil genius and technology pirate out to take over the world and or become immortal--Dr. Phineas Phibes (who gets his name from the Vincent Price villain The Abominable Dr. Phibes). Dr. Phibes recruits various sidekicks and minions to help him with his plans, among them Dr. Trebla.

Shaggy and Scooby Doo is actually surprisingly good. It IS of course a bit different, but it's still good.
I've loved every form of Scooby Doo though, so, maybe it's just me.
