Mapping is the right word right?.
Well, here is the thing...I'm adding joystick/gamepad support to my Zelda Game.
Now, I have...6 Keys to Make Link Attack,etc(not counting Arrows movement keys.)
A & S: Use Items
D:Use Shields
Z:Use Sword
X:Roll,Talk,Grab,Throw,Crawl,etc.
Enter:Menu
Now, I've Set the Keys this way(For the JoyStick/GamePad):
NOTE:I'm gonna Use The PS2 Controller Picture Since It Looks Like the Controller I have).

Arrows=Arrows
Square=Z
X=X
Triangle=A
Circle=S
Start=Enter
And I wanted to know which one would be better to use for the Shield? One of the buttons of the back?

A Zelda Game I was working on for some time, I'm trying to finish it now.
I don't have much Info at the moment, other than the Engine it's almost complete and I just need a story and design levels/maps.(I'll fix the sprite mix later)

Info:At the beginning it will ask if you want to load the sounds, pick yes so it loads the sounds, why? because this way the game loads faster and it's way better.
On the Menu screen press 1 if you want to turn on or off the Joypad(you can use your Joypad/controller to play this).
It's only one levels test with a koopa, tho, you get to try the wall jump, ground pound and other features...it was mainly to show what I have so far, nothing special but just to hold you guys and keep you waiting for a better demo.
Also, not all graphics have been fixed, just the walking,crouching and jumping of the big Mario, so the other ones still look weird, I'll fix this.
Controls:
X/Shift:Jump
Z/Control:run,hold,throw item,etc
Arrows:Move
You can also use the Controller or joypad if you have one.
To wall jump press the key the direction in which the wall is at(if in your right, then hold right,etc).
For ground pound, jump then press down, I know, the smoke it's misplaced

(The last pic it's there twice, I know,. The rules said I needed 4 pics and I only had 3 so do the math lol.)
Enjoy this Mini-demo-test, I'll be working on a new demo right now, and changing the graphics.
PS:The new demo has somethings like being able to fall from wall instead of only being able to jump from it, you can drop shells instead of throwing them if you want and more...I'm mainly working on Mario's moves and trying to find a good spriter to help with sprites...

Coding / Check if the other object's variable

let's say I want to check if when I'm colliding the other object's variables is NOT equal something, I tried this:
if !other.hurt=1

}
But didn't work, I tried to check if the variable hurt was NOT equals 1, I was trying to see if it was a different value...how do I check to see if it's NOT equal to 1?

UPDATE:
Added Item Test*green shell).
Item Box, it gives you only the green shell because is a test.
Fixed some HUD stuff, bar goes yellow,orange and then red, to warn you if you go too fast and the temperature bar will get full and boom! xD
Add Platform/second floors tests.
Some Tiles for the ramps, only put it in the first ramp tho.
...fixed the blinking in the place system, now it doesn't blink and it shows your position.
Under place system shows your laps and under your laps, the opponent's laps.
A few more stuff was added but I can't remember.

NOTE:I made the ramps invisble and I didn't make sprites/tiles for them yet so don't be like "wow, I just jumped for no reason lol" xD.
NOTE2:In This demo I have only one opponent,a "place system"(which needs to be fixed),HUD needs to be fixed too...also the Opponent picks a random character so press backspace to restart the room and see a new opponent.
For Next demo I'll make the Opponent more challenging, more opponents...I have an item system like the one from Mario Kart almost done, so for next demo I may add it.
Glitches:You could get stuck somewhere...and one glitch that happens most of the times is landing in a different lane/line, which it's a problem I have with codes and masks.

I thought it'll be selfish from me not to share this since I won't use it, so sharing it it's better than putting it in a folder to never use it again.
It contains two swords, one with slash,charge and spin the other was more of a test so it's like a gun, you slash , when it charges it shoots..nuts!, and then you spin.
It has rolling,crawling,grabbing,picking up,throwing,swimming,climbing and much more of link's action.
Th walking engine was made by Goodnight and some/most of the codes used on enemies and rest are from dlbrooks33.
This has a bunch of unfinished stuff like the ini system, you can create a file,load a file and save a file but since it's unfinished it only saves and loads the amount of rupees...hearts I think and some other globals.
Has flashlight, so just place the object in the objDark sub-folder in the room and it will make everything dark and a light spot around link.
I also used a few scripts with the id function, if you are not familiar with this or are not good with gml then this engine could be a little complicated for you since the use of ids it's the only way I came up to do specific stuff.
There is also an object call...I forgot sorry, I think it's objVariable_Control.

The problem is that as you see in that page, when the mouse goes over the line the link can be clicked...I just want the link to be able to be click when the mouse it's right over the word/pic...how would I fix this?

Coding / GM6 Mask Change Help.

Hey guys.
I've tried a few ways to make my char change the mask without getting stuck on a wall but everything I tried failed.
I made him change mask with this:

But if he is standing and then changes to crawl close to a wall...he'll get stuck in it.
So I tried this:

Yet it doesn't work, he keeps getting stuck if he changes from stand to crawl close to a wall.

I've managed to do this, Now I made the mini-map for things such as "tunnels" or holes you can crawl through.
So I thought it was a great idea but...it seems as if it's useless if I use it just for that.
So it's there another way to use it? such as...being able to see secret stuff in it, that you can't see in the screen, only in the map? would that be a good idea?

So I been working on the Zelda game,had a lot of jobs(I work, Installing tiles.etc).
Been busy, I also changed the zelda tiles and theme into some kind of Slent Hill/Resident evil kind of style...
Well, here is the point of this topic:
I've always been discriminated by EVERYONE, I'm Latino and I live in the USA.
(Before I continue I'll make an important notice:I'm not Racist and if I name a some kind of group Like Black White,etc I don't mean all white people just the ones I've met so I hope you don't get offend it, and sorry if I did offend you.)
Black people always discriminate me just because, White people Discriminate me because they say I'm an immigrant, and Latinos don't like me because I look White >.<
Well thats all good to me, I never really gave a !@#$%.
So Today I went to the pool with my Mom and Sister(she's 10 Years old).
And There were some White "Country" people smoking and drinking.
So they came to the side in which I was and looked at my sister, went back to where they were and then came back screaming to my sister and telling her to get that !@#$% out of the pool because she had no top on...which she had the whole time, I got really upset but didn't do anything because I don't like drama and will only fight if they ever lay a finger on my mom or sister.
So My sister got upset too, she started screaming at them that she did had the top,etc,etc.
They then told me my sister to come down and told her she had five minutes to get out of the pool or they will kick her ass, so I told them to try that.
They were about two dudes and 3 girls...who were getting drug.
So five minutes passed,then ten and so on.
After a while they started screaming, they said this is America only White people have rights,etc,etc.
So I told my mom to go home because I don't feel like stabbing one of these bastards and going to jail, I won't do such things knowing they are just ignorants.
Now, Again it didn't bother me at all...but what Did bother me was that they just wanted to get drug in that side of the pool and made a stupid excuse which really got my sister scared and I find it !@#$% up.
I'm not racist...but I really started to get mad and for some reason I felt like just stabbing these bastards, and now I feel like all White people are the same, I know they are not but this thing that happened left me that feeling...and for the first time I felt like killing someone, I swear I would kill them if I lived alone and had nobody to worry about...
I can't believe there is such people in the world...

I don't know all of them but here is what I found:
When picking up two bushes if you re standing in the middle of them one will fly away xD
When Ledge Jumping You can use sword, I'll fix this for next demo.
Thats what I found, Anything you find let me know.

~How can you Help~
I guess by helping me with the sprites, as you see the menu says equipment and has different colors, thats because I need to get better menu sprites if you could help I'll appreciate it.
Same with tilesets and other stuff such as a menu and a story.

Coding / External Resources GM6 Help.

I'm using this for my game, but the thing is that I have millions of images in one folder.
Is there a way to put this images into a file that can't be open but only by me?
And then load them to gamemaker?...like having the sprites in a file call sprites.xfl or something weird xD
