I don't know if my way is right but the way I would do it in a T shaped room would be like this:

using a 1024 x 1024 size for example.
psuedo somewhat

link.x > 123 && link.x < 901 && link.y < 180
{
  snap x view to link...
}

Should give you the complete top area to walk around...

You would have to snap the view at some point in the middle.

The arrows indicate when the view can move.  That's how I would tackle this kinda room anyway.


I know I didn't explain the psuedo part all the way.  been sometime since I really tried anything like this with GM.

thefore, that's exactly what I mean. In the view options under the room settings, you can set the border to 9999x and 9999y, so that link stays in the center, but when he reaches the edge, the view stops, and he has the corrosponding half to walk in, and you could determind which room via that direction.
