Here are some further thoughts on the incident (the reason I post them like this is it might make it easier to read).
I thought about the events for a bit while I was sleeping and I still arrived at the conclusion that the action was justified. One of the two posts before mine in the Capcom topic could have been made with the opinion that Capcom should stop making Resident Evil games and focus on something else. That is a valid opinion. The post after that was kind of conjecture about how the same thing has happened to the Megaman series. My post that followed that was stated that while series tend to get bad over time, the topic should stay about Resident Evil then I discussed generalities about the production of the later games in its series.

One might think that my saying the future posts should get back on topic was a little hasty or unnecessary for me to say. Well there had been a past issue with Theforeshadower and Porkchop over Resident Evil topics and I wanted to avoid a scenario where the topic devolved into one where Resident Evil was just made fun of. I deleted the posts that just mentioned I could have said "get back on topic" because they weren't about the topic at all. There have been instances previously where the staff will do something and they'll either get chided for it or the message will just be ignored.

The main part of the incident though was the overreaction and inappropriate handling of concern. If your post is deleted, you can ask a staff member or possibly ask in Feedback, but posting it again is not the answer if you knew a staff member deleted it and getting another user to come in and just yell "power abuse, (expletive) (staff member)" doesn't help. And then continuing to post just to prove a point to that staff member regardless of the topic. Or loading messages with mostly irrelevant non-sense or attacks and then some content, having your post deleted, and getting mad about that; had the post been edited there would have been the same outrage.

Then creating more topics to just spew the outrage laced with more possible attacks. What should I have done, asked them to stop nicely and come up with a clearer, less attack-ridden topic and post it in Feedback? Would not have likely worked because the staff is "corrupt", no use listening to them. Warned them again? Does causing a riot and always trying to show the staff is corrupt in some way really need to be told to them that its wrong? Banned one or two of them? The remaining would just continue to be causing problems and they had all received previous warnings of some kind for user behavior.

Jeod's picture in this topic also had words with it and enough content. There was an instance where he posted just a picture and Infini gave him an informal warning. There was also a time when Porkchop just posted a Kermit the frog image with no words at all that got deleted by a moderator with no warning given. A problem though when either walnut100, Porkchop, or sometimes gm112 would post a picture with little or no content, there would be multiple other posts made with just an image made after that.
