Problems with Media Player 11

Ok I didnt know where to post this at but. I for some reason cannot get Windows Media Player 11 to run. I installed the Service Pack 2 and the update for it. I also installed the lastest Divx and Codec Pack and it still wont open. Whenever I click the Media Player Icon it acts like it will start to run but it never does, and no error box doesnt pop up but before I did all this installation it said that there was an internal error whenever I try to run Media Player. Does anyone else have this problem and if theres a way to fix it? I would really appreciate the help. Thanks! ;D

Maybe because it's a beta version D:? It still should work though <.<

I know its Beta and when I tried to uninstall it and reinstall 10 it wouldnt let me do it.  :'( >:(

I did check the site but I couldnt find an answer. Right now the comp runs on a Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Media Player 11 Beta with the latest DirectX. Before I installed that it didnt have either Service Packs basically a basic XP Profressional OS and nothing was up to date (found out the Auto Updater was turned off) btw this is my gfs computer so with past information regarding the computer is scarce because her uncle worked on it last and I haven't met him yet. But I looked all over the net and couldnt find help all I know is before I updated it whenever I would run WMP it would have an alret box pop up and say an internal error has occured and then it never opens after that. But after heavily updating the computer whenever I run WMP it never runs and nothing ever pops up. Its the best I can explain it but its driving me insane I thought by now I could've fixed it.  :'(
