The latest issue of Japanese game magazine Famitsu announces a new Resident Evil (AKA Biohazard in Japan) game for the Nintendo called Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.

The Wii light gun game is a continuation of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and set in the world of Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil 2 is set in fall 1998 as the resident of Racoon City are infected with the T-virus and turned into zombies. The game's release date and price have not yet been announced.

Rail shooter The Umbrella Chronicles was released in November 2007 and sold over a million copies worldwide.

Yeah, !@#$% you Capcom, i hated UC, the wii doesn't need another damn lightgun game. I was hoping for a an RE remake in the same style as RE 4, or a new RE game all together that's like RE4.

I own Umbrella Chronicles and it's okay... but ANOTHER on-rail shooter doesn't get me excited at all! But we could've seen this one coming since Umbrella Chronicles sold pretty well.

It's not even a light gun game, since it doesn't use a light gun. It probably uses the Zapper. I think the zapper feels awkward and takes too long to get all the cords put inside of it. And even then, it covers too much of the infared reciever on the remote so sometimes it gets screwy.

Hrm, disappointing :/.

Mr. Resident Evil (I don't know his name) was all like "RE fans with a Wii will be very happy very soon." Light gun games have been done on Wii numerous times, they're not even that popular. How about a Resident Evil 2 remake with the RE4 engine? Or something new? That'd be nice.

Enough with the goddamn on-rails light gun.

Well, the gimmick about the Wii being a "casual gamer" system is 9000% true now >_<. How unfaithful, Nintendo and you third parties. I can't really say much other than that so sorry for the lack of content.

What Nintendo or a third-party company needs to do is make a full game using light gun controls without being so gimmicky. Something like RE4 or something that's long and you can get enjoyment out of it.

RE5 is sub-par. I was thoroughly disappointed with it.

This, however... I really don't know what to say, other than it's certainly not going to compel me to dust off my Wii.

Actually, I take that back. Deadly Creatures and MadWorld compelled me. But still, what the !@#$%, Capcom?

You need to grab a friend and play co-op.

I haven't touched the singleplayer mode. But I am thoroughly enjoying the multiplayer, even if I've been doing it split-screen. My friend and I had a ball.

I wouldn't say it looks better the RE5 but it does look damn good. Then again, RE5 was as good as I was imagining... damn good though.

Capcom's been doing a lot of whoring lately.

Look at the RE5 DLC, Dead Rising Wii, and now this. I wouldn't care so much if they were actually putting their money into worthwhile projects, like Megaman Legends 3, which Inafune said him and a few others would love to make but don't have the money for it. Unfortunately, Capcom keeps wasting their money on crappy ports and shitty ideas.
