I made this sometime in late 2005 for a Writers' Workshop class at my school. At the time, I was in the middle of the marching season, which obviously inspired the whole thing. C&C welcome. I realize that it's a bit iffy, switching tenses all the time, but I can't figure out a good way to make it flow better while still preserving the meaning and depth I want it to have.
