Coding / [C++] Integer to String and Vice Versa

Hey dudes, Im having a bit of trouble with C++ and as this is the only place I know that has people with C++, well you know.

Very simple to start off, how do I convert integer to string and string to integer?

I can grab the code I have tonight.

(This problem has taken me hours and Im still stuck, but I solve views in a matter of minutes. What's up with that?)

Hey dudes, first poll I've made in ages! Im considering cutscenes for my indie games and I have a choice. There's 3 possible ways to go.

If you guys can vote it'll be appreciated. Also, this is in terms of an RPG

EDIT: Damnit. Part of the topic is gone. That's strange. I'll rewrite it. Gimme 5 mins

Comic Strip Style - This is by far the easiest method of cutscene to make! It's pretty much each part of the cutscene is a panel in a comic strip. However this can also be a let down as most of them are never animated. However if you have an amazing group of artists this can be one of the best options.

In Game Scenes - Almost every rpg and adventure game uses this type of cutscene to my knowledge. The In Game Scene is when rather than being a Comic Strip or a Movie Time, the game is acted out in the same graphics as the gameplay itself. Sorry I can't be more explanitory with this.

Movie Time! - Great examples of this are Kingdom Heart's Intro and Ending scenes. These scenes involve smooth flowing animation in graphics similar to the Comic Strip Style (Or very detailed graphics) and voice acting. Now this is by far one of the better scenes in graphical terms, but it will need to be done right.

Howdy folks! Im doing c++ in a unit and it's time to work on my end of academic year assignment already. I have most of it done in my head! Except a few things. The first thing of course is rooms!

In one of the high leveled criteria, we need to have multiple levels. Now I have a theory in mind though I want to know what you guys would do in my shoes?

For this example lets assume there are 3 levels.

When we think if rpgs, we think of detailed landscapes. But with Fable's rise to fame years back, it now comes to a question what style suits it best?

The Detailed Cartoonish style of Fable
The Detailed Realistic style of Oblivion
The Simplistic Cartoonish style of Windwaker
The Simplistic Realistic style of Skyward Sword (Im thinking of Link here)

Hey dudes, I need help again. I've implemented a train program which I intend to use for a sidequest in Chiming Bells

I checked Goodnight's sound database and he hasn't done them yet.

So if anyone could quality rip the following sounds I'd appreciate it

-Train in motion
-The sound that occurs when you can change signals
-Train stopping
-All steam sounds

Discussion / [Discussion Time] Could Zelda ever have RPG traits?

I was on GMC again and I checked up on a zelda rpg project which I though was going to fail and it's progression since its crappy form is so much better. Now this got me wondering. Could Zelda ever have RPG traits without it truly affecting the gameplay? Now this is a discussion instead of a feedback as I already am working on a Zelda game which I ain't giving up. Now at a first glance, it does seem possible, however I have a few notes.
-How would the hearts system work now?
-How would the damage work now?
-Would enemies level up with the player?
-How high can the player level up to?
-What about the items?

Those are the points which in my opinion prevent a zelda rpg. Though looking at that user's attempt at it, Im not to sure about my doubts anymore.

Anywho, discuss!

When I first made Chiming Bell, Mamor told me I need to implement Prioritized Direction. However I have no idea how to do it again. I really gotta save the code.

Graphics / Request - Tile Spriting Tutorials

It's almost time to start making professional games. However at this moment in time, I'm the only spriter. Although I can make good sprites, my tiles...kinda suck. Too plain.

So if anyone knows of any good tutorials they recommend (If anyone says google or yahoo it, I'll cyber-slap them. You can never find good tutorials that way.) please can you post a link?

I completely hate the Windows 7 version of Paint. It's awful! Can't Microsoft do anything right?

So could someone find me a download link to Vista or XP paint?
I can't do any spriting with 7's version.

Graphics / Trying to do 3d Modelling again

If some of you may remember, I tried to do 3d modelling but had a few problems with it. Mainly importing it to GM. Now I've fixed the problem Im wanting to try again. However I need to find a freeware modelling program (Not blender. I've tried multiple times to use it and failed. The interface is way too complex). Could someone direct me to a good modelling program? There are only 2 criterias one of which is optional (but preferred to have)
-Exports to .obj (Needed)
-Gives measurements. (Like increase the width by 20 units or the current place of the cursor is -157 units away from the x axis) (Optional)

I'd really appreciate it. I know about 3ds Max (Currently inquiring about it but looking for another 3d modelling software incase things aren't good), Wings, Anim8or and Blender

Seriously, why the F*** do none of the decent modelling program show the unit measurements? When I say measurements, I mean say your going to draw a cube on the x,y plane. You can draw it at 20 by 20. And then you can extrude it by like 30 units.
Is that so hard to find? I have tried blender, wings, sketch up and anim8or with either none of them having measurements or none of them actually telling you how to turn it on.

Could someone point me into the direction of a modelling program that actually does what I've explained above?

(Yeh Im a tad pissed off right now about this. If you don't understand what Im looking for, lemme know and I'll continue explaining)

I found out today that Square Enix decided to remove a world from Birth By Sleep before release! WHY!!! It in my opinion would've been the best one. It was the Jungle Book!

ARGH!!! Square Enix, you've for once lost some of my respect. Shere Khan would've made an awesome boss.

I have been searching for a sound effects artist for 2 bloody years with no sign so Im going to join a community and find someone there. Problem is, I know of no sound communities. Does anyone know of any communities that specialise in sound effects?
