He was obsessed with online gaming that his parents took away his Xbox 360. He threatened to run away if they didn't give it back. They didn't. He ran away for two whole weeks. Now he's dead. And his parents blame online gaming.

If they bought him the Wii instead, he would still be alive to this day because they wouldn't have taken it away from him in the first place. Matter of fact, they'd probably be angry with him for wasting $269 on a gift he was not playing with.

What's funny is, it has nothing to do with the game. The parents should be monitoring who he's talking to and stuff if they are so worried. The kid was also clearly a spoiled attention !@#$%.

Still, condolences, etc.

A fifteen-year-old couldn't survive for two weeks on his own?  Did he forget to drink water or something?

Depends on how he lived. Did he have a friend to live with? He may have had to live on the streets. Then again, getting water isn't hard. You can get it free at any restraunt. Food is different, though.

Sad, but also very lame to blame it on online gaming... XBOX Live didn't take the XBOX 360 away from him for playing it too much. Not to say the addicition didn't trigger the parents taking it away. But they should have monitored it enough not to let it become that way. He was 15...

Stuff like this aggrovates me, because I'm sure the parents know they made a mistake but to write it off as "Oh my god! Online gaming killed my boy!" is shameless.

When your xbox 360 explodes in sync with your router and modem and causes a fire that kills your son, THEN tell me xbox killed him.

Hypothermia most likely, given the time of year.

yep, he was in a rural area so finding water during snow is really hard. Really Sad. I am glad Microsoft offered a reward.

There was no snow. I live not far away from Barrie.

His parents think that he met someone online while playing Call of Duty 4. That I really doubt.

oh thanks for informing, I though it was snowing, maybe he was going to visit a online friend. But still leaving your house for two weeks just for a game is kinda dumb.

Change "online gaming" to "15-year-old boy" and you've got it.

Remember Remember the Crisp of November
When Brandon walked out the door.
His mother said no
So he decided to go
To hell, where he can play Call of Duty 4.

Meh, I saw that written up by an Anon and thought it was funny.  Poor kid, but hey, natural selection and survival of the fittest.

Somebody in my Media Arts class was complaining and saying that the kid deserved to die. He's an !@#$% anyway. He's like the AVGN but doesn't rant on games, he rants on everything.

wat

Snow=frozen rain=water If he ate snow he might have survived. Also, is it really that hard to hide in a supermarket as it's closing? Or to just do something to land you in the police station cells where it's at least warm and you don't die?

He had UAV Jammer on so they couldn't find him.

Anyway, jokes aside.
I think he's pretty stupid in the first place to not go back once he got cold.
He's stupid for even running away in the first place.

"Fall Out of a Tree of Duty"?

Way to go, media. Blame it on video games, and the kid was just an idiot who probably woulda died eventually regardless.
