Okay, I know Im about 3 years too late, but I finally got a 360 on Friday. I got the 60gig HDD Holiday Package and also bought GTA4. I am loving every bit of this system so far. Does anyone have any recommendations on what games I should buy?

Although I haven't played it… I'm sticking to my assertion that Fable II is worth buying.  Get it!

I didn't like the first Fable all to much. I'm not really for getting sequels to games I dont like.

Fallout 3!

Best new game I've played in a while. Incredibly immersing world that feels more alive than anything else I've seen in a game. Also, blowing thing's heads off in slow motion is awesome.

Mirror's Edge is another great one, though I'd recommend renting it first if you aren't too big on time trials. It's definitely worth a try though.

I only just got my 360 on Christmas, so I haven't really played that many games for it either.

Fable II is *awesome*, that's all I have to say.

I just got my 360, the day after Christmas. (Lol mail-tosamoa). Anyway, i have a few war games.. gears of wear 2, banjo and Fable II.

Yea I played Fable 2 start to end, I didn't think it was god's gift to man but I enjoyed every moment.

Fallout 3 is full of blood and guts as a warning if you intend to get it.

Lost Planet: Colonies is a surprisingly good action third-person shooter game. Online is very fun, it's a Platinum Hit so only $30. It's about humans colonizing on this snowy planet E.D.N III. Humans are trying to drive off the native aliens, called Akrid. They're giant bug-like things that produce thermal energy, or T-ENG, which the humans are trying to contain to replace fossil fuels.

Fable 2 is good, but its bug ridden (seriously, Fallout 3 had less bugs). Plus there's not much of a replay value to it (most of the quests seem to of disappeared for me.)

If you like first person shooters, Call of Duty 5.
It's not as good as 4, but it's still keeping me entertained. lol

Actually I think it is better then 4, its longer, more play back to it. Dont get me wrong, I loved 4 and its setting. But 5 just seems to have more to it. i hope they make another mordern based warfare one. OR ONE IN THE !@#$% FALKLANDS LISTEN TO ME INFINITY WARD!!!!

That was lazy not to just post the game titles themselves, not to mention there's no doubt Halo 3 is on the top 10, which is imho a crappy game. Just because they're the top 10 "popularity"-wise doesn't mean they're worth spending 40-50 bucks on for everyone.

Mass Effect
Oblivion

I highly recommend Fallout 3 and Bioshock. They are two of the best games on 360.
