So... I want to play Sonic CD in Vista. I have two options: Install my old copy of Sonic CD and have it look like garbage because of the lack of vsync, plus have to switch into 256 color mode every single time I want to play or I can use the Sega CD version that doesn't have the awesome music... >> << >>

Why doesn't my ISO of the Sega CD version have the awesome music anyways?

I'm not sure, but do you have the Sonic CD that comes with Spiderman Comic Maker or whatever? XD I love that game.

Try changing the compatibility mode to windows 98 or something.

I have Sonic CD working in Vista both the old Windows 95 game and the ISO of the Sega CD version, but neither of them work right. The Windows 95 looks like crap because it's at 640x480, 256 color (which I have to switch to every time I want to play it), and when I go fast, lack of vsync makes ugly waves on the screen.

The Sonic CD for Sega CD that I have for Kega Fusion allows me to run it at 1440x900 (my laptop's native resolution) without forcing me to go to 256 color and has vsync and looks really nice, but the music is completely different and I really don't like it... >>

Which version did you download? I believe all PC versions of Sonic CD use the American music. The Japanese & Euro version of Sonic CD for Sega CD have completely differnet music. The American Sega CD version has the same music as the PC version.

Oh. I must have the EU version. I guess I'll try a different one. It's odd that I like the American music more than the JP/EU music. Usually it's the other way around.

Sonic CD has three main versions. US Build 920, US Release, and EU/JP Release. US Build 920 was the last release candidate for Sonic CD before  they changed the music. EU/JP essentially got build 920. US has different music. So uh, yeah.

You can just play it using a sega emulator. Well, that's if you want to give up your saved games.

No thanks. I already got it. Plus you're not allowed to upload it because that's copyright infringement.
