Time for one of our traditions, the zfgc xmas tree.

This year it will be structured and end up looking better than it has in the past, so first a few rules:

  • You are only allowed to save as .png, save as anything else and your ornament will be removed. (also when making your ornament, please download the latest image instead of simply copying it into paint etc, this way it avoids any colour loss/random darkening that some browsers cause)

  • There will be real consequences for intentionally removing and/or vandalizing another members ornament

  • No ornaments bigger than 32x32 pixels

  • And this isn't a billboard folks, its an xmas tree, so please dont make any big annoying adverts for your game/site etc

Ok, so lets get started, I drew up a nice tree in photoshop and added my ornament ;) :

and remember, this is an activity for all, dont worry about your spriting ability, draw however you feel most comfortable!  ;)

edit-

cleaned up the topic, heres the latest tree:

just too much off topic chatter, and I figured all the excess pages were the cause of people not reading the rules.

He's Alex though; we have to make an exception for one of our greatest ex-leaders :P
No, "we" bloody well don't. It's not fair to show favoritism to admins, mods, ex-mods, ex-admins, or flying pigs.

I figured it averages out to 32x32 ;P I'll redo it though if it's really so terribly important.

[edit] There, I've gone and cut myself up:

Oh, and I figured that as long as people are going to be nit-picky on sizes, I would be helpful and point out the other ones that are too big:

32x32 is the size inside the red box (not the red border). Blue numbers mean that that particular dimension is ok.

Been pointed out before, and I think we've agreed that the size applies to the ornaments themselves and not the strings. But yeah, it's a problem, eh?

If it was said, then it was deleted. Regardless, as far as I'm concerned there is no problem. The main thing is that they shouldn't be monstrous. Some things just don't fit well into a 32x32 and that's just the way it is. The blue one next to mine is pretty huge, but it doesn't matter really because it's nice. It's not like all of a sudden there won't be any more room anywhere and all because of a couple extra pixels.

Indeed. Although yours was quite long. It wouldn't have mattered nearly as much were it on the side of the tree IMO. Ah well, what can you do?

Put it on again and see if it disappears ;)

Uhh... move it? That's always feasible :P.

Because you copied the image rather than saving it, meaning that in the process it got darker.

I wouldn't if I were you. It's my opinion but it's not the rules. I don't really have any say in any of this stuff, i just like to argue about it anyway. :)

well if .TaKaM is gonna be a little Female puppy about it then F*** him

make your own X-Mas tree and make the limit around 32x32 and don't delete stuff
He isn't being a !@#$% - he made the rules and by posting your entry you're agreeing to them, so it's damn well fair enough if he enforces them, isn't it?

I did save it...I right-clicked it, went to 'save as', and then opened it in Paint to add my ornament...then I resaved it as PNG, which it was before, and uploaded it...should have been fine.

Strange... not sure what went wrong then. You could give it another go. I'm not really sure why I'm acting like general moderator of this topic, but whatever.

EDIT:

You arn't supposed to use paint
There you go, then. :)

Generally, he has been. However, he's really only been targeting ones that are rather extreme, like Alex's something like 64 pix tall sprite and Yue's maybe 40-50px tall one. These things are hard to manage.
