Post by: BlazeBigBang on July 09, 2012, 08:27:22 pm
Name: Soldier with Bow
HP: 4
Location: Hyrule
Appearance: a Soldier that uses the bow to attack Link
Attacks:
    Ranged Attack- 0.25
The Soldier shoots an arrow to Link. Only usable when Link is away of him
    Close Combat- 0.25
The Soldier will use a little knife to attack Link. Only usable when Link gets close to him.

Battle Flow:
The player can use any item, except the Magnetic Gloves, to attack him.

Name: Thief with Slingshot
HP: doesn't have, the player cannot attack this ones, just stun them
Location: Poor Hyrule
Appearance: a kid with a slingshot that will try to attack an steal Link.
    Ranged Attack- 0.25
The Kid throws a Deku Nut to Link
    Pick Pocket- steals 10 rupees
The kid will get close to Link and steal 10 rupees from him.

Battle Flow:
This enemy cannot be damaged, but can be stunned. Stunning him is a good idea for then useing pick-pocket on him.

The thief would steal Link? How would that work?

Hmm, I don't know about this one. In a town it should be peacefull. The player should not need to worry about enemies. Besides we already have the chasing soldiers in the rich part of town. And why pickpocket a thief. He probably is poor himself and has nothing to offer.

The way I'm seeing the thief is that it would be a very rare sighting.  I imagine them being pretty easy to get rid of (bash them with some weapon and they run off like crying cowards).

That could work. :P

Though I have a problem with the rapid fire, what does he pull out a machine gun an start shooting link? Or does he put out a fully automatic slingshot?

Work together with the guards

"*sniff* Mommy, a bad boy *sniff* with a green horrible cap *sniff* hit me and stole me"

That could work. :P

What are you thinking, Shadow? Of course he will pull out a machine gun.

I think one thing we've kind of been posting a lot is enemies with lots of attacks. Are these really that common in Zelda? Most enemies just run into you, some throw stuff, very few have multiple attacks. This thief dude strikes me more as a mini boss. Maybe he could be part of a side quest, where your gang or one kid from it is being bullied by a rival gang, and you've gotta fight off one to three of the rival gang kids.

In the side-quest Link is sneaking in another gang, and the others are like this

But it's the same for me. If you want it to be a normal enemy, erase the Rapid Fire; if you want him to be a mini-boss for a side-quest, fine for me.

Well, that decision is up to you.  We only decide if your design is adequate for what you're proposing :)  If you want to make it into a side quest mini-boss, then create a side quest for him and submit it in the side quest board.

Rapid Fire, out. Enemy that steals to Link, in!

Does anyone have any comments on this?

I still remain with my previous point. I don't think that besides the guards in rich part of Castle Town, we don't need any more enemies in Castle Town. Link has too much to do there.

I'm voting to cut the soldier, but I'm still open to the thief if they're moved to Hyrule Field and various places and are made very rare.  I like the pick pocketing idea.

Location is not important. We could also put them around the field after Link retrieves teh 4 cogs.
