For the better half of today, I have noticed a severe lack of banana link in linkw's posts, including the exclusion of it from his new posts.

It's getting to the point where I'm seeing people complain about it more than I'm seeing the actual banana link. And I know that I'm not innocent from that...but nonetheless...what say ye all that we let it go now? :)

I was never holding on to it so I can just leave it there right? I'd rather not pick it up and then drop it... I still don't get what the problem is/was with the banana link smiley. You people seem to get upset at the most stupid of things at many times and I don't understand why. Anyhow, I too have noticed he has slowed down with the banana link smiley, except when he feels like being a smartalic because people are arguing over his exessive use of the smiley. If you could just accept that sometimes people have impulses to do stupid stuff for a couple days, it be much easier for me to be able to post things and actually be a part of this community.

BTW I have noticed something since I started up the PC today, Almost everyone is using :), or has used it when making there webpage...Its starting to creep me out, and it might be the next thing someone stupid does stupidly.

Agreed, you guys make it too big deal. I mean, why don't we just wait, let's say a week, and see how many times people use banana-link in their posts.
Because after all those topics etc. people are maybe a little scared to use that XD

People don't appreciate linkw204 for certain reasons, as you may or may not know. So what do they do? They look for every thing possible to complain about him. That obviously includes his "little siggy" - the banana-link. While even I was pissed off of his stupid idea since it only was a mere emoticon of the forums and not a signature of one's post, I agree with you, TRW, that we need to chill out about it. Ranting and going mad about linkw for reasons that are stupid won't get us anywhere.

That doesn't mean that you, linkw, can do whatever you want though. Less spam in your posts and more content is really appreciated. Thanks.

Fissure, I love how you do that everytime some/everyone starts complaining about the new smileies! I do have some comments to add,

@FOX: Of course we'll complain a bit about almost anything linkw will do, but this thing has started to get WAY out of hand, as we have all seen... and that comment was only about the complaining part...

@TomPel: With how you just said that it sounds like you just said that people will be scared of using the emoticon just because he was flamed constantly, but I do understand what you mean, after seeing it so much they know how annoying it will be to see it all over.

Yeah, he's being pretty good about it. The real problem here is that we jump on n00bs too much. As a community made up mostly of experienced/long-time internet users and a lot of experienced game-makers as well, we don't tolerate n00bs very much. I mean, linkw seems to be a pretty good guy. His only "problem" is that he asks a lot of questions, makes rookie mistakes, and uses the forums in ways that *we* look down on... from our high horses.

It's true we do jump the n00bs too much before we give them a warning. but once in awhile we do get the usual person who doesnt care and does n00b stuff, but from seeing the lack of banana link in linkw's posts today I say we do calm down a bit.

I haven't said a word about it, nor have I posted in a topic concerning the subject of bananna link (until now that is:P) why?, because I was once new to forums too, maybe I didn't overuse emoticons, but its essentially the same thing, no one can expect to be the greatest member on a forum ever within 2 days of joining, it takes time

Because I locked the other topic about the Banana Link, I will lock this one too.  The discussion is being continued in the staff section, so members please do not think that nothing is being done about this.  In fact, something has been done, but I do not know if anyone noticed.  It is time to move on, so let's do it.
