Well it's not filler; if you notice in that comparison the episodes are redrawn, with different camera direction, and rerecorded dialog. The story's already done, so they have no need to waste time with filler either. It's a giant troll to the world, kind of like how in season 1 they played each ep out of order.

I have to say I like watching the first season in non-chronological order.  I dunno how to explain it, but it just has a nice feel to it..  My only complaints with it were the breaking up of the island episodes and that I had no clue what Koizumi was talking about when he referenced the closed space incident in the baseball episode, which just happens to be my least favourite of the first season.

Also, I think it's worth watching all of the Endless Eight episodes just for the art and animation which is some of the nicest I've ever seen.

Well yeah, it's very nice to see it in different methods of presentation. I assume though by the 3rd season they'll have a chopped down 2 episode version of it for us.

According to 2ch, Newtype has confirmed today's episode is the last one in the arc. Now hopefully next week shows the making of the culture festival movie, or we aren't going to have a new episode for 3 weeks! ;-;

In all seriousness, while it was a pain in the ass, being tortured for 7 weeks, the arc ended really nicely. The whole 6 episodes before it made for an epic ending... Like... it rivaled the first season's main arc ending!

Yup D:... It's like the episode of Star Trek TNG where they're stuck traveling along the same path over and over again because of a temporal rip, and they can't get outta it... Except this is Haruhi, and not something dumb :x

I've never watched Haruhi, but I know a bunch of buddies of mine who have and they said it's a really good show (then again, they're massive weeaboos), but a lot of them complained about this Endless 8 thing.

Honestly, while it's pretty bad in a technical way, it's still definitely new and different from the typical things you're getting in cartoons and anime nowadays for sure. Most cartoons now are nothing like they used to be and just try to hard to be funny. Anime is starting to grow into a bunch of shows with School Girls, then again, that sparks from the Manga, but still. I miss my classic Anime/Manga like Dragon Ball and Inuyasha. That's why this is such a nice twist, even if it's basically the same thing over and over.

I don't have a problem with these Animes, but I just want to see something neat again. That's why I'm so glad they're continuing the Inuyasha Anime <3

Subs have been released on yuchoob if anyone cares to see how the arc ends. The previous 7 episodes were essentially the same, just a little less intense, and Kyon doesn't go batshit insane at the end.
