Haha, I figured. So, I think mapping them ellipsoid helped, but it still looks off to me. And the dots made me think it was a giant salt shaker at first!

I'm not sure what is going on with the top of the pillar, but maybe it could have like, a cap? That miiiight help, but I'm just spitting out ideas.

Here's the first pillar I saw on google with the right perspective (basically), maybe it can help?

I edited the pillars. Also I made a new chocolate floor, it's made by 10 8x8 tiles, and added the door tiles.

Those pillars are perfect! Nice job, dude :D
So, what was your approach to fixing them up? They look more circular that ellipsoid, so I guess my inclination was off there, I still don't completely understand Zelda's wonky-ass perspective. But I'd love to learn what I can from how you fixed them.

I also dig the more varied floor. And that it is still chocolate XD

Yeah Zelda has always had a weird perspective, especially in interiors.

The perspective does not deform the top face of an object. For example, in a cube you would see a square instead of a rectangle. The frontal face does get compressed vertically, also the frontal face should always be a shade darker compared to the top since the light source is at a 60 degree angle, not 45 (Note: the walls and doors have a 90 degree light source).

Since the pillar is a cylinder, the sides are receiving less light. You really need to use darker colors to give it more volume, if not then the pillar would look flat.  :-\

There are about 3 to go. Look at the first post and see the ones that are done. I might put the ones done on one post all together.

Start with these! There are more that are done, but I have to go to school, post the rest here!

Oh that's actually really good, I'll be able to get a good chunk of these done once the sewers are knocked out (taking a bit longer than I expected, this week has been kiiiillling me)

On another note, I may have the map editor ready for you guys to use soon!

Awesome! But for all the interiors done or the ones that were on the post? Because there are more that are done already.

I'm starting with the ones in the post.  I'll be building on the spritesheet when the first wave is complete.

This also means we might should finish mapping the interiors we haven't finished yet. Which are:

Slums cobbler/tailor shop.
Shooting Gallery/Ammo shop
Gale's Gallery
Stanley's House (slums)

There are also 2 undecided houses in the slums, 2 in Old Town, and the one with just a roof entrance in the Terrace. We should make up some NPCs and/or sidequests to involve those houses, then get them finished once we know what needs to be inside.

Hey! So, I was going through the first post and it looks like I'd marked the Cleaner's house as done, but I don't see it anywhere in this topic? I figure I must have marked it as done accidentally, but did anyone do his house? I don't think I did. Anyway, unless someone else sees it, that one is also unfinished.

Which would, just for further reference, bring the list of remaining interiors to:
Slums cobbler/tailor shop.
Shooting Gallery/Ammo shop
Gale's Gallery
Stanley's House (slums)
Cleaner's House

As well as whatever goes in the 2 empty houses in the slums, 2 empty buildings in old town, and the roof entrance in the Terrace.
