I think I've tried this before, and didn't like it all that much, and for some reason on the second level, Sonic just kept dieing at the beggining.  Maybe it was just my computer, or maybe I did something by accident to the open source GM file, but I'm not sure.  It'll be interesting to see how this turns out though.

anyways one thing I didn't like was when you're fighting eggman I couldn't tell if he was getting hurt or not...

Yey, I finally finished the layout of Egg System Zone Act 1. I just have to add in some objects, make the doors and switches work, switch over to the new music system, and then I can get a vid of it on youtube.

I also fixed & changed my instance deactivation code (before it would activate all instances and then deactivate outside of view, and I used right and bottom for width and height, now it deactivates all instances and activates in view, it runs a lot better that way), now it doesn't slow down when you lose rings.

That's probably because I actually changed the pallete for that zone and re-ripped it rather than use GM's colorize function :P

Trailer looks good, but I have a few criticisms to make.. Sonic speeds up way too quickly. In the Genesis games, it took him far longer than that to speed up. Also, the levels are far too short and blocky for the new engine. Although you said you were remaking them, so I hope you plan to address that.

Very Nice trailer....Last Sonic game I enjoyed was Sonic the Hedgehog for the Gamegear....Man I wish I
still had it....

Ok, today I am going to go into the special stages. Unlike normal Sonic special stages, my special stages are short stages with one act (like thise hidden islands in Sonic Rush Adventure). Each level usually has some unique gimmick to get through the stage (For example: You may have to find keys to reach the end, you may have to finish the stage quickly, through the use of power shoe boxes.)


Hmm, so much fun, except for Blind Jump Zone. I'm going to go to Diamond Caves Zone, since that is the only one that is in the game.


Has things similar to Egg System Zone Act 1, doesn't it? Well, at least you don't have to worry about the temperature. Actually, it is more similar to an older version of Eggie Rocktopia Zone Act 1 (which became Egg System Zone).

Now what is this stages gimmick?


I think you can figure it out. (Hint: Think of some of those stages in SMB 3).
