Title: ePSXe help?
Post by: शेफाली on May 04, 2008, 10:05:21 pm
I'm running the PSX emulator, ePSXe, playing Final Fantasy 9. Now when I get in a battle, none of the menus show up. Does anyone know how to fix this?

www.ngemu.com

Check the forums there, that's where I usually go for my epsxe troubles :P

Answer should be there.

I didn't find anything on that forum, but after messing with a few settings I got it to work properly. Thanks anyway.

It probably has to do with your graphics plugin. I had the same problem on Final Fantasy VIII. So your best bet is to either mess around with the plugin settings, or get a different one.

Burn your
ISO
to a CD-R and play it on your PS1/PSOne/PS2/PSTwo.  Google is your friend.   ;)

I thought you needed a modded console for that?

I guess they advanced technology while I wasn't looking.

LIES.

Well, actually, for PS2 (Fat not slim) you can do it without a modchip, but you need a legit copy of any PSX game, a credit card type card, and of course, you're burned game ;)

Let's hope you won't have to deal with the crazy bugs that can happen when you have to switch the discs D:.
Sure was a pain in the ass when I played FFIX

There was a little bug when I switched discs in Metal Gear Solid. The sound plugin just broke. :x Good luck...

I wonder if PSX ISOs that aren't at the PS Store are considered abandonware?

For an un-modded slim all you need is a straw, carton-like paper, tape and scissors.  For a PS1 (fat) I used a pointy piece of plastic and an eraser.  It's easier to swap on the PSTwo.  And no, no modchip required.  Like I said, Google is your friend.

You need to use the PEOps Soft Driver video plugin while playing FF9.  The graphics are a little blurred, but there aren't any glitches.

I'm having another problem, hopefully someone can help me. My computer suddenly decided that ePSXe.exe is a Trojan and won't let me use it. I don't understand why it happened; I've used it dozens of times and had no problems with it. I tried re-downloading the emulator and I get the same virus message as soon as I unzip the folder.

What Anti-Virus do you have?

Try checking it's settings/virus vault/etc.

I use AVG.

Now--I turned it off altogether--when I download ePSXe and try running it I get this message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
