You might be right, and if so I am sorry. It's an odd case though in that to my knowledge I had thought that walnut100 had set up the tournament and handled it previously avoiding merge scenarios. Introducing the gimmick now might be an unfair advantage. walnut100 never withdrew his character and he has been online recently. Heck, if I wouldn't have voted for Sarah Palin in the last match, this wouldn't have happened.

But tell you what, since this match has only been going for a few hours and I haven't made a site news item yet, the characters could possibly be merged. Although mergers didn't happen earlier in this contest when they could have, this is an extraordinary case where one character was unattended for a while and the other to some degree didn't get some votes due to a forfeit.

It would seem a little odd without artwork though.

lol, you make me sound a little dense - which is actually quite truthful, my brain mush is as such thanks to high fructose corn syrup. There were many things that could have been done better, namely a schedule that didn't marinate in its molasses quickness.

This contest has spanned such an amount of time that a tie-breaking administrator or moderator would have been problematic; moderators were fired and hired, administrators quit, or either some administrators or moderators had a character in the contest whose fate they could have secured by being the determining vote.

Putting limits in place on voting would likely only be a practical solution if those conducting future contests were privy to the forum modification that shows who voted for what. Either that or the board itself was accessible based on post group; i.e. you need a certain amount of posts to be able to vote (having guests see the contest is a good thing).

Yes, indeed, I am the bad guy with the mustache who ties up damsels to railroad tracks then laughs sinisterly with piano music in the background. Beyond the Tea Pot Dome Scandal, Pol Pot comes to mind; surely I am supporting the communists by clearing moving their obvious descendant into high office.

Fairness? I make mistakes, it isn't as if I am perfect. The character contest has gone on long enough though for something that was rushed into beginning and then slow churned chronologically over the course of over a month. Voting in earlier matches for draws in at least some cases was done in a way that the second closing date of the poll was on the contest doer's whim. Earlier matches couldn't do the vote accumulation method due to their contenders not being in that many matches.

Democracy is over-rated. I roll with Aristotle who thinks a Polity is the !@#$%.
