Given the age of ZFGC's current software (11 years), it's obviously missing some modern features. None of which we can guess would be the most beneficial. From the user's perspective, what features would you see as the most useful that we don't currently have?

Hot or Not rating system
-
Oh baby ;)
-
not so much a feature but a modern, simpiflied clean theme so that the place looks more fresh/alive and aesthetically pleasing. otherwise, some forum software has a question/answer or resolved topic feature which would be really nice for request topics here.
-
A new look is definitely in consideration, because yea this 2006-theme is gross.
So for q/a and resolved topic, do you mean like a special kind of thread like a poll, but can be used to ask a specific question (or request) and can later be marked resolved when said question has been answered?

I believe the plan is for the new theme to be responsive as well, so it shouldn't look like complete crap on mobile!
-
It will indeed be responsive :)

yes, that sums it up
-
Agreed, responsive CSS design (or a mobile rendering) for easier access on smaller devices.

A tiled background of Steve

noted ;)

I vote we remove all stylesheets but one and make it bright white with white text on white backgrounds with everything white. I would find that hilarious.

This is a fairly basic and obvious feature, but having the ability to link/list our various social media and online gaming profiles with our accounts. That could solve some of the headache involved for those of us looking to connect in more places than one.

Do you mean using these social media/online gaming profiles as accounts to log in with? Or more-so to just link to the profile as a "find me on other sites like these!"?

The latter.

Shouldn't be hard to implement, considering we already have that (but still limited to like, early 2005) where we can link our email and website or wtv.

Yeah I agree, that one is quite a bit easier than logging in!

much easier, in fact!

I'd personally like to see a responsive site so that it work's better on mobile. Perhaps then using something like ManifoldJS to make an app for several platforms (http://www.manifoldjs.com/).
More importantly, I'd like to see some nice ajaxness used in a few places to make things like posting new replies much faster, as well as updates etc to posts.
