Other Projects / Zelda Boss Keys charts, by request
« on: October 03, 2019, 08:12:37 am »
I wonder...
I made some Metroid Boss Keys charts covering the entire franchise and now I'm wondering if I should make some for some Zelda games and fangame projects. Anybody interested? And if so, which ones?
(For the record, Mark Brown only made some and released just a small handful, then never got around to finishing the job.)

This wouldn't be a direct game project, but rather more like a research project to look into game design, both overworld and dungeon layout. Let me know if this is something that would be helpful to people here.

In what minute do they describe them?

There are also some videos on that channel that have full picture references of the characters.

So, for those of you who don't know, Realms of the Wild is an online D&D-style RP session done by several members of Zelda Universe staff.

I was thinking... could someone make some Minish-Cap style sprites of their characters? One Goron, one Zora, one Sheikah, and one Rito.

Interesting how you have the areas as actual zones, aLttP style. I guess that means you'd be scrapping the entire idea of random battles, then?

Wow.

First of all, spectacular undertaking. I've had a similar design in mind for something like this, but only in txt file format. (Though collecting the sprites for the items wouldn't be difficult for me to do, since I have the Minish Cap style item project...) I do agree, that refitting the original game to fit more of the style of the rest of the games in the series would be awesome to do and get used to. I'd like to help, if I can.

(Once my antivirus releases the exe file I downloaded from your Google Drive link, I'll actually try it out and play it.)

That looks REALLY good, actually.

Though... maybe getting the assets straight from King Mob himself would be easier? If he still has them, that is...

Ooo, you gotta make them BotW Zora kids, also... Please?

Haha sure! They are adorable! I'll work on them when I can. :)

EDIT: done!
EDIT 2: I did Muzu too

D'awww! I'll say this forever; the kids of each race in BotW are the most adorable things ever in the series. (Not the Hylian kids, though.)

Seems similar-ish to Secret of Mana. That's all I really have to say on it.

As for the Sages. Yes, it is said Ruto was a sage in BotW, but Ruto could still have awakened as a sage after Link was sent to the past. Also, Link might have returned from Termina after Majora's Mask, given the Hero's bow to the Gorons, and joined the Royal Guards. Link could have died in battle and burried under that big tree in hyrule castle, where the ghosts surround it. But this is just speculation.

Admittedly, this is also implied in the noncanon Hyrule Warriors, too. That Ruto and Darunia were indeed awakened as Sages of Water and Fire, respectively.

=====================================

The one in Hebra is unlike anything we have seen. It looks like a whale, with an elongated skull. No whale deity known matches the bones. Maybe we will get introduced to it in the future.

Oshus, possibly?

=====================================

Additionally, the Seven Warriors of the Gerudo each depict a different symbol with a different color and symbol. Each of those match a color and a symbol for the elements of the Six Sages of the Era of the Hero of Time (even though they aren't the actual symbols of the Medallions) (which are also reused by the Six/Five Sages of Twilight Princess), PLUS the Seventh Sage's... Zelda of the OoT Era never had a Medallion and a corresponding symbol assigned to her, so... what other time have we had reference to the Seven Sages..?
The Downfall Timeline.

The information about them all being Gerudo Warriors might easily just be a corruption of the legend. The Eighth Warrior, also, is... interesting. Especially since I have looked all over the structure, and cannot find either a color nor a symbol for it to correlate to. The Sword of the statue being misplaced, however, causes a new quest to go seek it out. Hmm... Does that sound somewhat familiar?

It's Link!

Urbosa herself mentions that Calamity Ganon once took the form of a Gerudo (and she was disgusted by that fact), so... it has to be SOMETIME after Ocarina of Time. But Zelda also mentions the Twilight. But the Rito also exist. And so does (a) Deku Tree. And more than one Sheikah. And no mention of the Triforce.

So... none of the timelines actually perfectly fit.

Surprise...

Except there are plenty of walls that have the goop on it, in BotW. And in MC there are some climbable walls, so...

To be honest, you might run into digital distribution copyright issues if you post music. Sound effects, though, might be harder to compile, but easier to get past those laws. I personally do not recommend hosting copywritten music.

(On a side note, T-B-H still gets auto-replaced to "tight butthole" . Why...)

Discussion / Re: Timeline Discussion
« on: March 12, 2017, 09:10:50 pm »
Hmm. One thing I've largely been curious about regarding the timeline is the impact of AoL.
It's stated that Ganon will return if Link's blood is sprinkled on his ashes.

What I'm wondering about is, would even a little blood do? Or perhaps the forces of darkness could take Link out when he gets old?
Either way, would this not mean that Ganon could be revived at any time?

Hmm... I spent some time thinking about this possibility...
What if... this was the reason of the backstory for Wind Waker? The Hero never returns when Hyrule is once again in danger... because he died to Ganondorf's followers? And they revived the King of Evil..?
