Pick your top 5 favorite Zelda songs

This is kind of an important list to me. The Zelda games have some of the most amazing, moving music of anything ever, in my opinion. So here it is, from 5 to 1

5: LA's Balad of the Wind Fish
Few songs are as memorable as this. Truly amazing, especially considering this was on hardware only marginally better than the NES.

4:Majora's Mask's Song of Healing
This song...it really tells a story...listening to it makes me really feel at peace, it calms me down.

3:Wind Waker's Overworld/Sailing theme
Few songs can tell you about your environment. I think this piece truly captures the essence of sailing across a grand, majestic ocean, with adventures in store at every turn.

2: OoT's Hyrule Field
There's just nothing more epic. The first time I heard this song, I just KNEW there was a grand adventure lying in store in this game. <3

1: OoT's End Credits.
This moves me to tears every time I hear it. It's just *sniff* so amazing.

•Majora's Mask - Daru Blue
•Majora's Mask - Stone Tower
•Wind Waker - The Great Sea
•Twilight Princess - Lake Hylia

Those are just the first 5 I could think of.

tight butthole I don't have a top five favorite songs. I really really like 98% of the songs in the Zelda games, they are very well done.

Though if I had to pick a game with the best OST, I'd have to go with Wind Waker, it's got really great music.

No-one's mentioning the Gerudo Valley theme enough. So, here goes:

5. Wind Waker title theme. Probably less enjoyable than the theme on the main sea, but I spent too much time on the sea (!@#$% you, sailing) so this one wins.
4. Great Bay theme. Oh yeah. Nicely mysterious.
3. Grotto theme, same reason.
2. Lost Woods theme. Seriously, takes a simple six note riff and actually makes it pleasant to listen to for hours on end. WIN.

Seriously, so many reasons to love this song. It's flamenco, it's guitar-based, there's a nice trumpet section, it perfectly represents the area, it's so dramatic and instantly recognisable, and it's LOVELY.

Dragon Roost Island gets a very very honourable mention, because it's !@#$% awesome and I'm a fickle !@#$% and decided to throw in three different OoT songs instead of considering quite how awesome WW's soundtrack was simply because of how much sailing pissed me off.

I remember a site called Zelda the Grand Adventures from when I was younger on Nintendoland.com, and it had a music player, and one of the songs was Gerudo Valley, but at the end it got really dramatic with a piano and stuff- I remember listening to it and getting shivers down my spine it was so good. Now the site's no longer updated, and I can't find that song anywhere.  :(

God I love Wind Waker so much. Zelda should be cel-shaded, period. To me, it's how OoT and MM would look like with more detail- not like Twilight Princess. And I want a new place to explore, or a new Hyrule, at least a Hyrule with its usual staples swapped out for something else, like things from ALttP and MC, for example.

The Twilight Princess desert is crap, as is most of Twilight Princess' Hyrule, for that matter. Come on, an abrupt cannon flight to get to the desert? Too much contrast, and it doesn't flow naturally into the desert. And where the !@#$% was the valley, for that matter?!

But I totally agree with you that it was crap; the OoT version was amazing in comparison, ESPECIALLY with the Epona jump, which was just such an "omigawd" moment.

Wind Waker's soundtrack FTW.
10x better than most of the others, although I love almost all of the zelda music.

Especially when the first time you do it it's at sunrise, with the sky a dramatic red colour, and the camera angle makes you and Epona a silhouette, I was like "SWEEEEEEET!" when I saw that, it was just perfect.

Hyrule Field, brings back memories of me riding Epona on the beautiful Hyrule plains.
