I can't believe nobody cares.
It's hard to trust Sonic Team after the !@#$% they've been shipping recently.
Well since you two are idiots who totally missed the point, I'm going to do a quick synopsis of what I've found so far in these things.
I just played through Lava Reef Zone Act 2 on the Sonic 3 April 8th build. The level was surprisingly complete. The background is still "hot" rather than cooled like in the final Sonic 3 & Knux (These betas look like they were from before the games split, rather than just building a few stages from S&K into Sonic 3 like I'd anticipated) My memory's not the greatest, but I don't think this level ever actually made it to the final build, although some elements from the final were there, like the scrolling mini-boss who tries to rocket the platforms you're standing on. The scrolling glitched, it kept on going after the checkpoint, almost killing you with the flowing lava platforms. Then the first time around Robotnik refused to show up, so I ended up sitting there on three floating platforms in lava. 2nd time I tried to get to Robotnik, it worked fine. I beat his ass down, and then jumped to the exit/transition to the next level, which did absolutely nothing. Level Select on Lava Reef 3/4 doesn't work, so I don't know how these guys got to the Hidden Palace, unless they hacked it, which is probable.
Next I'm gonna do a run of Angel Island Act 1, I'm curious to see if the surfboard bit is still in tact or if they'd added Super Sonic already.
EDIT: Well Angel Island's 100% complete and exactly the same as in the final. Sky Sanctuary is the same too, although I did run into a stray platform floating where it shouldn't have been. The game's animations seem fairly incomplete. All the Knux attacks I've run into so far have worked great, but other transitions, like Sonic running up to the deathegg, and obviously Sonic running to the Hidden Palace, are missing. It takes 50 rings to get to the bonus stages now, and the special stages work perfectly. Lava Reef had a bit where after I completed the special stage, I fell through the floor, which I don't think was supposed to happen.
